about two mths ago i bought myself the maudio axiom 49. the keyboard that i was given was not in proper working condition. as i found out that all of the eight rotary encoders were not working. so i exchanged the piece for a new one in 2 days. the new piece was working fine until the other day, all of the black and white keys stopped working except for one. all of the other 48 have just stopped working. its really wierd coz everything was workin fine. also ive never taken the keyboard for a gig so its hardly gathered any dirt or been misused roughly.
although i did call up the maudio techinical expert , who i bought it from, what worries me is the fact that i was not given a warranty card for the product. can anyone tell me if they are supposed to give me a warranty. although im sure that ive not f**ked up the keyboard myself. i can even see the midi signal blink in fruity loops i.e., only if i press the keys with a little force. but there is no sound heard.
can anyone tell me how could i get myself an assurance from the dealers that the keyboard i get next will even work properly. also theyve never given me an instruction manuel. would appreciate any kind of advice as im new to all this and dont like the idea of being cheated.

comes with a years warranty .. the bill receipt is that warranty .. but before running to the dealer again try making a clean install .. remove it completely first ..including all entries to the registry etc try again with the latest drivers
best of luck

You should have gotten a printed manual and PDF version with the keyboard and on the installation disc. Anyways, I am not so certain about the compatibility of M-Audio products with WinXP.
I bought an Axiom 25 through AudioMidi.com. My model was defective too but they put me in touch with a rep guy from M-Audio and they immediately shipped me anew one - even before I went to the post office to send the original one back.
TIP: try re-initializing the Keyboard by holding down the plus / minus keys and powering on. Also a re-install using the latest drivers might help.
Lately though my machine has not been recognizing the hardware / drivers and everytime i plug in to a different USB port it wants to "found new hardware" all over again.
Same problem with my X-Session Pro. I plugged in at a party for DJ set only to have my machine and software fail to see the controller, even though it was working fine at home just a day earlier.
So I'm still troubleshooting these issues but I think it must have something to do with the drivers.
Anyways, I'm buying an AKAI MPK49 when they come out. Those look sweet!!

Just goes to show how reliable m-audio gear really is!
I've read about a lot of people having problems with Axiom's, apparently the Oxygen series was much better..
I even had some dealers tell me they've been getting a lot of returns & to avoid the Axiom series..

I solved a similar issue conecting my oxygen 8 via MIDI instead of via USB.
M-Audio drivers sucks.
Try to use the search function and you'll find a lot of similar strange issue with M-Audio devices. |
