Perhaps you have two kinds of Discovery's?
Is it possible that one of the two is a DXi instead of a VSTi?
In that case get rid of the DXi ... and change it into the VSTi

I hope I helped ...           http://trishula-records.com/artists-pages/melorix.html

Discovery works on channel 1 only, maybe you are on another midi channel

Yes, Discovery gets touchy with the channels. Having multiple instances of Discovery open can get tricky.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

The tips work fine!

But i can only record automations in a midi-track now in this way...

I cant see the discovery parameters in a automation track... only show two parameters: "Program list and Bypass"

any help?           Bash's Home:

I've got the same trouble the topic starter described. And the tips don't help. Fuckin' vstis, fuckin' cubase, i'm deeply dissapointed with software, want to get back to hardware...

First off, try assigning all the automations "fresh" in a new project with nothing else but the Discovery open.

There is some kind of bug in Discovery with the MIDI/automation channel assignments. I have successfully done an automation assignment in a "new" project, then done the same thing in a "full" project and had it not work.

If you are just trying to automate the filter cutoff, it's easy - don't use the Cubase Automation lane at all.

Just use the MIDI lane where you write in your notes - add a controller lane at the bottom for "Brightness" (in the arrange window where you normally add "velocity"), the Brightness CC is the same as the filter cutoff. It's much easier that way and gets around the bug.

Then just draw in the curve for what you want the filter to do. Turn up the quantization as high as possible to get better resolution.

Andreh, it sounds like you were already on this track, but I didn't know if you knew the Brightness control correspnds to the Filter cutoff, or if this is what you were trying to automate.

And FYI, this definitely seems to be a Discovery problem, this problem is still here in SX3.           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

Ehh, what version are you using? I wonder if this is an issue for 2.6. I have 2.3 on desktop and 2.6 on laptop and I suppose I could check both. I had a similar problem in Albino where after I write filter automation, save, and close the project, my filter setting and automation were lost upon re-opening the project (even though the MIDI track lane data was still there).

I would have to click on the ECM button on Albino and also click on it's filter knob and only then Cubase will play back the filter sweeps. I haven't figured out what's going on as of yet.

don't take me up on my word on this one but I know that at least in the past some demo crk'd releases had this prob. I actually remember one occasion @KVR forums where DiscoDSP were offerring to help the group who released the plug on how to enable automation. That group then released a fixed version and also thanked DiscoDSP for their gesture on the release nfo. was quite funny that...
anyway....if u'r using a legit version then forget about what I just said
