I bought cuebase5 so i installed win7 64bit and then cuebase5 64 bit and all the 32 bit plugins don't work well or don't work at all.
Do anybody have solution for it or should i install the 32bit versions of cuebase and windows in order to make all my vst's and plugins to work well? |

keep win7 64bit, but install the 32-bit version of cubase. everything should be fine then. if you have more than 3 gigs of ram, you will be able to utilize all of it under a 64-bit OS. cubase process will get 2 gigs to itself. if you rewire reason or ableton, they will get 2 gigs of ram to themselves too. you can also run samplers (kontakt) through something like fx teleport to sync up with cubase. each instance will get 2 gigs of ram to itself. but this is only really necessary if you are doing sample-heavy orchestra work or something of the sort. otherwise, having 2 gigs of ram should be plenty, if you are mostly using vsti (your cpu is more important for this).

your OS, since it's 64-bit, will be able to use all 6 gigs. the 32-bit version of cubase will only be able to use 2 gigs. however, all (or most) plugins will work. you don't need to do anything special to make it work. simply install a 32-bit version of cubase and off you go. because if you have 64-bit version of cubase, you need 64-bit versions of your plugins and there aren't many of those around. you can still theoretically use 32-bit plugs in your 64-bit cubase via what's called a VST Bridge.
http://knowledgebase.steinberg.net/262_1.html
but it pretty much doesn't work for most plugs. so at this point the best solution is to have a 64-bit OS and 32-bit cubase. and it works really well for many people (myself included).

You'll be using all six gigs of ram in the sense that windows will see it...but Cubase will only be able to address 2GB because it's a 32 bit program.
Edit: Damn septa beat me to it, hehe.

I actually went through the same problem. You have to go into the registry and do the following:
-find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Filter
- right click on the "Filter" folder and click PERMISSIONS
- Give full permissions to the accounts there (I just did it for all of them)
Worked for me after that.
