i'm sorry that i post this here, but for me it is a problem of the forum... a bug from the people who made this forum
sometimes when people here discuss a long-discussed subject and they keep posting and posting and talking and discussing and arguing, WITHOUT USING BAD WORDS OR DISRESPECT OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS, moderators lock the topic.
i just don't get it.. it seems that when an argument between 2 or more groups of people reaches page 3 to 4 and someone is boared of reading to it, someone comes out and lockes it. WHY?? isn't this a discussion forum? it's not like we yell to someone's ear or we send our opinions to everybody by e-mail. so what if there are 1.000.000 posts. someone wants to post 1.000.001.. he wants to say something more. that's why he registered here. if you don't want to read any more posts just DON'T! i'm sorry but i find it really stupid to lock a topic just beacuse people can't get to an agreement while not fighting.. this is neither a court nor the goverment's council nor a children's fight where mum has to put an end to it. this is a DISCUSSION FORUM...

i'm sorry if i offended anybody but i'm just being honest... in a frustrated way...
i used to like this forum and i liked more the old one..
i don't like answering with just a "yes" "no" "lol" "you are right" when i have something to say and i hate it when someone puts a cork in my mouth with no reason..

those who made the forum are programmers.
now, your post is interesting, but without pointing to specific locked post we cannot help each other.
and also try read guidelines before getting upset of locked threads. sometimes we miss those threads and locking time comes later then it should be. Like drugs for example.
so, give examples (as links)

First of all, it looks like you (KosMos) have a problem with the moderators of this forum and not with it's creators.
Second, I find your post interesting, and I assume that some of the cases that you've seen threads locked without a visible reason were in the parties section, which I'm one of it's moderators. If that is true, please give me an example for a thread like that.
I would also like to say that I find that there are more reasons to lock a thread, even if it's not becoming offensive and disrespectful. I think it's ok to lock a thread that is becoming entirely off-topic, a thread that's becoming a place for two people conversation (instead of using PM) or a thread that goes nowhere (if you want a general example, think of monty pythons argument skit)
Anyway, I'd be glad to see an example of this case.

i thought that the moderators (or anyway some of them) made this forum... didn't know better so i'm sorry...
as for the examples you ask.... i didn't post this to start a conversation which will end up like: "here i said that because.." "and i did that because he said that..." etc..
i don't know if i overreact, but i did it to make some people think twice before locking a thread..
who knows.. we can all change our minds with better thinking.. after all..all this is just my opinion...

i do respect each and every's oppinion
that's why i need examples to see what you are talking about. I do trust every mod here and don't think there is something weird happening, but again i am ready to check every issue.
and i am sorry i don't think twice before locking (though i don't lock tooo much) i have experience in identifying bad threads;)

p.s. this is our forum and built by a guy who ain't mod here. that what i ment.
