the eq too,i really like it in Pt
but lot of the logic stuff share a family raw sound that is quiet unic imo it don't exist elswhere than in logic .
that sound caractere is imo part of psytrance..as many artists made music with logic stuff .using the pluguins it come with can sound instanly familiar.. at least he did to me the first time i used it years ago..but at taht time there was not much third party plugin yet..that probably a reason |

Yep, very true... Everyone has heard a ES1 Bass line for sure! You now that kind of click in the attack of the notes when you listen to it. Sampled bass notes from the ESM is also a trademark (or used to be), same for ES2 - that extends to leads and pads and all sorts of sounds with a unique touch. Sort like VB1 thing... We've grown to like it (or got tired of it) because it's so familiar to our ears.

Nord clavi x2 FTW!
I noticed a big difference when I switch'd to PT, I used mostly outbord gear, and third party synth anyway, so i dittent miss the Logic synth that much.. But maybe I should dust the old Logic off and do some rewire stuff |

I don't believe Logic has a better sound engine than the other big DAWs. It does have native plugs that sound brilliant, even by today's standars.

I'm still using snow leopard. seems like most developers have updated stuff to new "64 bit ready" code, to be able to run from Lion onwards. will have to check if I can make the move, and still be able to access some of the older projects without problems. didn't know about more stability, first good argument I've read eheh. |

on mountain lion you have to use 64 bit plugs only? logic can still run in 32 i guess ? i think most plugs are 64 now anyway .
last komplete from Ni is not supported on snow leopard so it s the begining...more and more plugs and application won t be supported anymore..
snow leopard is really stable here.. so not sure yet but really thinking to upgrade.. |

Nope, you can still run Logic (or anything in 32 bit); but plug-ins need to be "64 bit compatible", in order to load. Whereas you could get away with "designed for 32 bit" plug-ins before. That's why such developers as Waves have placed a big effort when Lion came out to update their range of products fast. Same for Linplug, Native Instruments, etc.
If you have your plug-ins up-to-date, then there's no problem. Problem is if you have some older plug-ins that you like, or use in some projects that wouldn't open from Lion onwards. I think that's my case, but will render some of those tracks to audio and finally compromise if there's such an advantage. Being able to have more tracks means it's more cpu efficient, and that's always good news.
One thing they've dropped is Rosetta - which enabled older code, I think even Power PC based stuff to run.
