It's a long time since I configured my Virus, so I don't remember if I had that problem. Check the manual and the FAQ at Access website.

Does the synth receive/play MIDI notes sent from your sequencer?

There are a few possibilities.....often it's the most obvious....is the midi note that you're receiving colored or blank....is the part enable selected.....how is your routing......have you assigned the high and low notes to the correct keys....I've got a virus C....if I press the Osc 'sync' and 'edit' buttons simultaneously I can play the sound....good way to use as reference for sorting out sound problems!

The problem isn't in your computer and soundcard either, because you can heard the demo. Can you hear the notes you play if you plug in headphones directly to the Virus' headphones output (it's "out 1", left channel)?
Set your Vrz the same way mine is set:
Click "multi" and "single" buttons simultaneously so the lights above them light up.
Click "system/multi edit" and find "PartEnable" and make sure it's "On".
Then locate "MidiChannel" under the same menu and set it to "1". Next set "OutSel" (the same menu) to "Out1 L+R" (and remember to have your audio cables or headphones connected to "out1" too!).
Finally set the midi keyboard you have connected to Virus to midi channel 1 and play notes. Now you should hear sound. If not... well...

Check the "ChanVolInit"......set to off or desired volume(127 would be cool for now).....also check the "Transpose" function.....sometimes it goes to a negative(-)setting which I've found destroys the sound sometimes... just a couple more possibilities.

If it's blank.....your midi channels haven't been assigned to the correct numbers.....also get a manual.....with our advice and a manual , you'll sort out the problem in a minute!
