Problem binding sounds together

I've worked on this for around eight hours and I feel the beginning before 1min sounds great but after that, it gets too random. I hear all the time psy tracks using several sounds to create melodies etc but I don't know how to make them sit nicely together.

Some pads/drones? Never really used them so I don't know how to use them.

So, what sounds good and what doesn't in the track above? Any feed back is greatly appreciated, I'm stuck at the moment

Okay well the first bit of advice I can give to you is that the lead that you introduced at 1:30 is a psycore or darkpsy lead and should never (imo) be used in night psy or full on. I know what you're trying to achieve with the whole merging leads concept (i'm practicing the same thing)

imo it wont sound that good unless you pay attention to EQ and mix levels carefully. I dig how this track sounds though. A lot of the time I hear my track for a long time while working on it and it wears me out. Take a break and listen to it again after a while with a clear mind. it's like anything you listen to. If you keep listening to an awesome song you heard for the first time it starts getting less special every time.

Why do you say that? Are you following some kind of 10 commendments of Psytrance that I'm ignoring?           Fire Walk With Me

Nope but if you've listened to psy (not just full on) for more than about 5 years I'd say that you'd know which sounds would fit with a certain genre. Fundamental principles of a sub-genre shouldn't be ignored, it's all basic protocol, unless you're adventurous enough to incorporate different genre's elements into your tracks.

Are you seriously going to troll on a production forum? You're doing it wrong bro, rofl. And that's not an fm lead And who said anything about albino? That lead can be made in a number of synths.

Trolling? I just wanted you to seriously explain why that FM LEAD is not fitting the track.           Fire Walk With Me

I talked about Albino just to make an example, of course.

By the way sorry, I don't have time for this.
YOU are doing it wrong.

Come on, read all my posts and notice how many times I liked a track.
As soon as I finish my last track I will post it so everyone would be pleased to bash me and feel good with himself! You are welcome.

I don't see the point in telling untruthful comments in the workshop; everything I ever written was sincere, and followed a detailed explanation.
If a song of mine lacks of something I would LOVE to hear criticism about it. That's the point of the workshop.

Happy new year          Fire Walk With Me

By the way I never said I don't like this track. In fact I think it is a good beginning.

I was defending the guy who dared to put a "Darkpsy lead" into a "Night Full-on" song (not my words); why he couldn't do that?          Fire Walk With Me

hahahah... you guys are pretty funny.

I like the ideas in your track and there is nothing wrong with your build. But I would definitetly put some work in your mix; improve a bit the transition between pad, fx or percussion which breaks in would be a good start.

btw I can be wrong but it sounds like fm for me too and there is no rules for producing... if you like even polkas or tarantella would sound good if you know how to manage it.

keep it up!           always learning...

You guys are right, it is a night psy lead and it is indeed FM. I don't really care about genres and sub categorizing the song, I think it sounds good there, but the part right after the drum fill around 1min is what concerns me.
