hello,
i am using sonalksis stereo eq and i automate/move the gain at a certain eq point.
the problem is that i would like to finetune/zoom-in more in the gainvalue so that i can work more easy with the automation.
somehow in the grahical interface in the automationtrack in cubaseSX3 the small square dots/points of gain value are so super close to eachother that i only can see what is happening by clicking on the dot and then read the value.
for example after 70.0, the next value (which make a very noticeble difference in this case the bass sound) can be 70.2 and in my screen really falls on the 70.0 value. even when i pull the automationtrack to the full size of my screen.
question:
is there some finetune-option for automation in cubase that for example allows me to make in the graphical interface of sx3 the distance between the forementioned values to 5 millimeter instead of what is now far less then one milimeter???
it would anyhow be nice to know about the scale while automating in cubase.
thanx

What is your quantization set at? Generally that's all you can really change to affect the accuracy of automation movements.
Also, did you RECORD the automation? Is that why there are so many dots? One of the things about automation I've found is that recording automation is often a waste of time as I usually end up just going in and doing it manually anyway. Most recorded automations that have 30-40 datapoints can generally be done just as well with 3 or 4 datapoints manually drawn points using curved automation lines.

ok meta thanx, i will stop trying to find out and work with it like it is.
yes the quantization i know to find but thats the horizontal axis and i am looking for something on the vertical.
i also found out that saving automationfiles does not really work. now i take it as a part of the midi, also ok to work with. |
