On the grid drum and bass forum there is a feature where every couple of months a pro producer signs up to answer all questions on production put to them by the forum members over a number of weeks. Do you think isratrance could get the same kind of thing going? |

I don't see that happening, fitzoyo. In psy (and prog) trance pros guard their secrets jealously.

there is no secrets!
most of "pro" artists uses "Pro" gear, pro monitors, studio acoustics & they know which plug to open & when to open it... if you make a salad with fresh vegtebles - your salad will taste much better...

...? Seriously?
Again, I don't think I have ever seen a "properly formatted" question go unanswered here.
I have seen Colin answer more questions than I can count, we've seen Domestic come in and give an itemized explanation of all his bassline AND mastering secrets (!), Billy Cosmosis has peeked in plenty of times and shared his knowledge, and an amazing amount of information has flowed from people here that may not have the "magic blue letters", but people like Undertow clearly know more about certain technical subjects than most released producers.
Is there a question you haven't had answered, or was it just that the answer didn't come from Erez or Simon Posford?
I agree that this place is quite muddled with repetitive questions and that there is a lot of stuff to filter through with the search function, but, again, I don't think any legit question has ever truly gone unanswered. The entire cast of "Blue Letter" producers that are registered may not be stumbling over themselves to come in here and share all their knowledge, but the people that DO post here have the whole technical spectrum surprisingly well covered.
I don't think the poster's original intent was to disrespect the people that have contributed so much these last few years, but, seriously dudes, just look around and pay attention - you don't realize how good we already have it.

yes i agree Meta evrything about the technical side is amazing on the forum (thanks to everyone) but maybe fitzoyo was looking for a q/a with things like what bassline you used in this track... what synth you used for this lead at 5 mn in this track...in how many hours you usally do a track...what do you use on your master channel...all these things who are very specific to every artists.but it ll work only with very big names imo cause of the production quality and lot of people know their tracks.the comunity is not big enought in this forum to make something like that i think |
