Hey ppl..i'm visiting london for a couple of weeks & was wondering if anyone could recommend some pro audio shops here..i found one that's called digital village n is quite good..could u guys recommend some other good one's here? i wanna buy a lot of stuff for my studio (monitors, headphones, midi-keyboard, soundcard etc..)
p.s. i was thinkin of gettin a presonus firebox but the guy in the shop told me he wouldn't recommend it even though i'd read some good reviews abt it on some websites...does anyone own it or would recommend it or other firewire soundcards under Ł350...other options are Edirol Fa66, Emu 1616m
n finally i was thinkin of gettin the beyerdynamic dt770 pro...r they any good? thanks a lot!!

TURNKEY!
Off Tottenham Court Road... love it there  go and soundcheck monitors, play with keyboards, buy sample packs, play electronic drum kits... there's everything. PLUS they have the lowest prices in london (according to them - but i want to believe it)

Check the "Future Music" and "Pro Sound" magazines for the adresses!

thanks guys for the recommendations...
@ NikC i don't think turnkey have the lowest prices in london, i think digital village is a lil cheaper..but maybe that's coz they have to make up for d higher rent they have to pay for their location!!

The thing is that turnkey does price match with any shop in europe with an original quote... I once saw a price on a set of speakers in spain, cheaper than here in london, so the guy in turnkey checked that quote and lowered the price.... !!!! |

yeah turnkey does pricematch for any store in europe, so just find the best price, go there, tell them to check that in the other shop website and they will match that price, they done that for me too
also digital village is very good, i had some problems with some speakers I bouhgt there and their customer service was impressive, i had a guy picking the speakers in my place the next day and had a pair of new ones delivered to my door 48hrs later

turnkey a month ago or something was with major sales, they were anouncing products with a considerable reduction on their catalogs, than arriving on the store asking for the product and the reduction was even bigger.. |

I don't want to be a negative jerk but I can honestly not recommend Turnkey!
Personally I've found their customer service to be piss-poor (every time) and I know people who have been seriously f****d by Turnkey. But true, they have lots of stuff and will match any original quote.
Haven't tried Digital Village. However, there is a brilliant shop in north london (Totteridge & Wheatstone) called KMR Audio which I highly recommend. Absolutely fabulous service!! http://www.kmraudio.com, check it out. |
