So I'm having some trouble in creating solid basslines, and I was wondering if people had any input or suggestions. My farthest understanding of wave editing is that it's supposed to be cut while the wave is hitting zero. How do I make one that will pitch well? I've also heard that the 16th note length notes should always be cut to a little less than a 16th. Thanks for your help. |

It depends on the bass you want.
For example I've used basslines that are from 1/4 of a 16th to a full 16th every note. It all depends on the envelope. If you're doing a full 16th the release should be minimal. The shorter the note is, the longer you can afford to push the release. Triplag Music

my suggestion: try vb1 or cronox 2 it s easy to get a good bass with them and you don t need wave editing,if you have vb1 push the mediator and the mic full left then damper knob around 6-7-8 should do the trick then adjust the midi note lenght and maybe the track delay. |

hmm ... I am interested in learning how to make a bassline
from layers, I put the first oscillator in sawtooth and controlling the envelope and eq it a sound that I like, but
once I "finish" the first layer, I can not add any waveform that
sounds right, I like to know if someone has something to
teach on this subject..
thanks ^_^! |

A tiny amount of volume for that second layer? But just enough for a sutle mix?.

What about creating a saw wave in soundforge, then load in into a sampler.
Then adjust envelops, etc!
I'll try to layer a soundforge saw with a sub saw. put them playing the same notes and then compress them together |
