Hello friends,
I'm opening this topic because wanted to discuss what an artist need so to be invited in a local party (i include venezuela and colombia). I mean, logicaly it must be cheaper to invite an artist from Brasil than from Europe but having in mind all the experience we had its almost the same. So my question is: Could an artist come and play if its flight ticket is payed, he has here acomodation, food, beer and whatever xtras  but his normal fee for playng is not included because of the young scene and the non-comercial objective of the proposed event? Like some kind of special support...

hey there
here in argentina we did the following:
1)contact organizers from brasil
2)check out what artists would be around for the date of the party
3)try to contact the artist directly or make good relation with the agent
4)explain to the artist or the agent the situation and try to reach a deal that is useful for both.
a lot of artists here came to play with no fees or very little. basically we payed the flights, all what they needed here and they came. but of course it depends on the artists, not everyone would agree. but we managed to bring a lot of artists: Neuromotor, Vibrasphere, Jon Om, Analog Pussy, Hujaboy, Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, GMS, Talamasca, Sesto Sento, Bishop, Goa Gil...
as the scene got better we started paying more but we always had to pay less than what they are used to.

Hope that works for Venezuela also amigo, 'cause checking flights in nov/dec resulted in higher prices to fly Caracas-Brazil-Caracas then to almost any other place worldwide....prices of 1000 up to 2500 dollars/euros were shocking the shit out of me and others ! Might be cheaper to get artists from Europe 'cause Air France and Air Litalia do have good offers for coming months.....

yep... everything here is the truth, it so illogical that a ticket from brasil is more expensive than from miami for example   so one way i see is to invite artists who are passing through south america, looking for the low tourist season when the thickets go down with like 30-40%, make some mutual acordance between the parts fort he payings. something like producer juglings
...and of course i'm speaking bout strong underground acts, newcomers and no fluffy-like super shiny loungy-proggy saikos...

We should co-orporate on this mission D-Alien (and Psy Kommunity)...I have 2 other locations now where I can make regular parties and first ones will be on 25th of February and on 15-16-17 of March (all weekend long !!!   - more info on both here soon !!!), together with ur Psy Kommunity parties, that is enough to offer a ticket to most live-acts from Europe or elsewhere and even offer 'm a fair fee and a good mini-holiday here in Venezuela, which I'm sure and allready find out many are interested in...think about it, we should co-orporate instead of compete 'cause it will create a lot more opportunities and chances for all of us here

good point.
i think that is very tempting for the artists to visit various countries (a mini tour), and logically... would cheapen the costs for the organizers.
and yes, please, un-der-ground acts ;-)
