Hello,
My name is Antoine Calvino, I am a french journalist specialised in electronic music. I am going to be in the south of India the 20th of November and then stay two monthes. I would like to make a report about the trance scene in Goa, Kerala and Karnataka for a french music magazine, but I don't know where to look at. I see on your forum that you don't want to give informations online, because it is too dangerous. Then may someone please be kind enough to send me a mail at antoinecalvino@gmail.com ? If it was possible to meet someone in India, that would be also very helpful. There is another party in Karnataka with Vectro Electro on the 17th. If you are there in Karnataka and wanna be a part of it...

I'm afraid I'll miss these two events, guys... For those who don't trust I am not an indian cop, you can also google my name or check the myspace of my dj/vj collective : myspace.com/collectifaka. I am the blond guy on the last picture on the left side.
Since my post I talked to a partygoer who told me that there is no more real trance outdoor parties scene in India. If someone who knows the situation agrees with his opinion, that would be nice to let me know. Thank you.

Hi everybody,
Antoine contacted me to have infos about the ongoing trance scene in India.
I'm in France at the moment and haven't been to Goa since '98 so I've got only words from travellers about what's going on in Goa and India in general.
Even if some people seem to have a lot of fun down there every winter, my opinion is the Goa scene is not anymore what is used to be 10 years ago (I would be delighted to be told I'm wrong but...). And for all I know, it seems parties take place mainly around january or february anyway...
So I told him to have a look around the indian section on Istrance for a general feeling and I hope someone will be interested in his project and be able to give him more up-to-date informations about Goa or anywhere else there is something happening these days.
I can't see anything wrong about an article in the musical/techno press here in France about nowdays trance scene in India... It's still where the whole goa thing started after all...
So it's up to you, guys.

You have come to the right place... all you need to do is visit goa after 20th and stay in Goa till mid jan am sure you will find the best trance scene of India.
June/July you can find very good trance scene in Manali
