beats the crap out of it, performance wise, doesn't it? I've been a Logic user for some/many years now, never really switched to X as I really didn't like the interface, despite having some real nice new features. demoed the cubase 8 elements and ran some performance tests and the results made me start saving up for Cubase 8 pro.

EDIT

reason why I say this, is this software is made by the guys who formerly worked for Steinberg and did Nuendo - hence the similar look, feature set and, last but not least, the performance and stability of it.

I noticed on some video that you have the "event fx" thing, similar to the "process" function in cubase (that we like very much). But was wondering here, from the looks of the video I've watched it seemed like this was a track specific thing. Can you, for instance, select all the regions within a bar (across multiple channels) and process the whole thing with some fx like you would in Cubase?

Anyone who knows this, please reply. Thanks

Yes you can have live effects on just one region OR render it into the file...

The Performance of their stock plugins such as impact or Mai Tai is less good tho.

I just use battery and other Synths mostly tho.

The Folder Track Mixer sync is lovely, if you collapse a folder in arrangement view its containing channels are hidden in the mixer as well AWESOME!

To be able to color tracks in the Mixer is very nice as well.

And the Arranger Track and Scatchpads are very usefull as well and much more elegant to use than in Cubase.           http://facebook.com/ansolas

nice, but was wondering if, for instance, say I wanted to "process" some effect on the last beat of some loop, but on all the regions (or a choice of them) at once.

from the video I've seen, it seems like this "event fx" thing worked on a per channel basis, whilst on Cubase you can process on a number of regions at once.

wonder if there's a way to process multiple regions, across different channels, at once, in studio one 3

As i mentioned above , yes it is possible to add effects on single regions independent from a track.
I suggest that you simply try the demo.           http://facebook.com/ansolas
