Hey all..!
Wazzup?

Does the type and/or speed of the cpu affect preformance when working with midi..?
What im really asking is can a processor affect latency with a delta44 soundcard?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!

1. Not really. MIDI doesn't require a lot of system resources.
2. Yes. You can set the amount of latency you want in the Delta control panel, but sometimes the CPU (and other compononets) can't cope with the desired latency.

BTW - Download the latest drivers for the Delta 44 from http://www.m-audio.com for best performance.

delta44 is a very powerful sound card
but anyway i dont think that it depends if you got 800mhz or 1500mhz but you need a good comp

also what Mike A said is right

yeh in the old days

hell, my pc struggles to cope enough with cakewalk and the number of audio channels i use
the only chance with an atari i would have (interestingly i do have an st stuffed up in the loft somewhere, or maybe i got rid of it, i cant remember) is with several samplers
