Predator cutoff automation not recording

I just tried recording a single note being played on Predator and moving the cutoff filter around and the automation didn't save. I tried this a few other times and the automation lines would show up (brown instead of red), but that parameter wouldn't change as it played. After this I noticed that the cutoff frequency option was greyed out in the automation choices. What's up with this? I'm using Ableton if that matters...

try testing this than say if it happens again..
create new set in live, create midi on predator track, press rec in ableton, press play on the midi you just made, then try to change the cutoff with your mouse.. It should work..
maybe if ur automating with some controller than if u routed something wrong it could happen, otherwise I havent heard of such thing..

Yeah the fact that it was greyed out in the list of automations made me assume it wouldn't work regardless. Sucks cause I was creating some cool stuff too  . Is there another way to do this, like recording it as an audio clip or something (I have no idea....).

You can route into a new audio track and record your audio, Kevin. There will be a slight delay but thats easily fixed.. |

Have you tried putting it in timeout?
Maybe you could take away it's allowance or threaten not to play with it anymore. Possibly sell it for scientific experiements?
Okay seriously though, are you trying to automate it from a controller or with the mouse? I'm still at work btw...hopefully I'll get out of here soon.

I'd definitely try to automate it using midi as opposed to normal automation...

I don't own hardware, so mouse is my only option atm.
When I'm recording it, it will show up as active, and even when I play it back it will play fine. The problem is, is that when I press save, it greys out the automation and doesn't play it anymore.

Are you switching between session view and arrangement view? Depending on where your clips are and what you are recording to, you could be mixing up where the automation is actually getting recorded.
Also, when you say save...do you mean when you save the project and then re-open it, or something else?

I keep it in arrange view the whole time (I watch the automation being recorded). If I play back the clip without saving it will play the automation, but right after I hit save the automation turns from red to grey and doesn't play anymore.
