I sometimes use the stereo widener on instruments as a lazy alternative to a stereo enhancer plugin, although I think using it on a master channel is pretty damaging to a mix, id be scared that it would put things out of phase or something like that.
I dunno if it were me bro and u wanted it to sound wider, id be going in and widening individual channels rather than the master. Precision is the key!
Another cool thing that helped me when I was starting out was for example, visualizing a drum kit as if you were sitting down infront of it. Place (pan) the instruments according to where their position is infront of you. - hi-hat left, snare centre left, crash and ride right, toms in accending order left to right, kick centre, add a little reverb. Then when you hit play it will appear that the drum kit is now in stereo and your sitting right there infront of it! This is just a quick example but it goes to show how panning tricks can really help construct a visual setting for the listener.

YEAH, I checked and seperation on individual channels DOES go beyond what the master output setting is.
++1 on the drums I had the same idea of panning as if i was behind the drums. I have my friend , who is an excellent PSY-drummer, lay down the "humanized' groove on his electronic drum kit with midi.<- Experimetal stage.
ps. love that main pad in 'good morning' Product_Placement, very PSY |

anyhow the point is if you going on -20 and floor noise is -70 you just got 50fb of clean sound this why we need it as closer to 0 so the floor noise is far behind , as well reverbs tails and delays works better this way.

I don't follow.
What is floor noize?? |

You might have intersample peaks that you will not notice with most meters.
Also changing levels in a fixed point signal is an extra step of processing....I doubt you will get much of a noticeable difference for such a minute operation, but better safe than sorry I guess.

Does "intersample peaks" go beyond the scope of my DB detection in fruity?

hum or hiss of the mixer/cable/output/input/electricity/computer fan etc.
working in vst only may not have floor noise
altho some plugins do have specialy guitar amp modules distortions and bit crashers.
the total box of 16 bit is 96 db , if the noise is on 50db then you have only half the box . well not half really , evry 6 db (1bit) sounds x2 louder so calculate.
anohter thing i said before is about the reverb times , if it takes X time to drop down from -10DB to -96DB then its not the same time as from -40DB to -96DB.
in 24 bit the box is bigger and have 144DB , 32 bit float is somewhere near 1500 if i remember correct www.sattelbattle.com
