Another way to get fat kicks is layering samples.
I use one kick sample (Amygdala way to create them is really good) as first sample.
Then i use the same sample but played with a lower note (deep),
add a little attack to kill the click(snap) at the beginning
and adjust the sustain (the sample plays longer when its deeper, the lower the longer )
Now you get a woomi tchawoom kick, like that i used here:

Hi guys - Just got back from Paris, and I'm digging around to find the kick-sample. I use it from my AKAI-sampler, so I have to search a bit to find the original wave-file. When it's online, I'll post here again

Really good kick Amygdala !!! I am working with it in a new tune. I will send it to you soon as i finish it. Too bad that i don't have internet at home becouse i wanna share you my own kick. But first i must uploade it on a site.
