BTW - listen to most tracks, the bassline just sucks big time.
So it's no biggie. If your track is not kick + bassline it shouldn't be a problem.

bassline is paramount for a trance track. i heard one with NO Bassline at all, and it sucked big time.

Try listening to some pro tracks, where the bassline is not the main driving power of the track. Listen to the bass - and tell me that it's 'neat'.

Try this : if yo bassline is too high , first try to find
the octave were it's sound good enuff for yo taste,
and if it still have some high frequencies in it - u can
cut them out with "low-pass" filter and use EQ to
boost in some low frequencies .
btw , don't forget to cut everything
bellow 25hz range ,
and what kind of monitors do u use ? |

hahahaha
Cambridge DTT2200
i tried that and with some of the fruity loops' built-in synths and i got nothing but a clean low frequency sound, i mean just the low sound. the bassline should have a sound of its own... shit this is hard to explain
i get only the sound that comes out of the sub-woofer, the low low frequency. no actual sound for the bassline.
maybe you could gimme a preset of one of the synths and i could see how you've dome it?

Now i know that even if i give u all my best bass
synth presets it's not goin' to help ya .
Maybe u can really make a killer basslinez ,
but u can't even hear them
on those kind of "hahahaha" speakers .
First thing u need is MONITORS , that's for shure .
And if u work in small room , go for "6" monitors
and not "8" something like Mackie ,
if u got the money there is Genelec and DynaAudio.

1. my speakers aren't that bad..... pretty good as a matter of fact (their just not monitors its called: "Cambridge Soundworks DTT2200 Desktop Theater")
2. i can hear killer basslines on tracks i listen to (on cds)
3. i don't think i should start spending money cuz i'm not in a high level where more advanced hadware is required
