Can someone give some tips about how to make a powerfull and fat bass? All I can do is some fat, but only loud bass, without power...
Any VST recomended? Some eq tips?
Just to make easier to undertand what I´m looking for, I like bass samples like Triptych, Silicon SOund, Alien Project, Element.
Thanks in advance....

VSTi's is not enough to have
you must learn to EQ your bass properly, otherwise it'll allways sound Fat and ugly, instead of Fat and pumping iron.

i think this question was more focous then the answers,
still the better way searching, dont expect people to spare to much advice here cause this their own formula
i can tell if you look for better vsti for creating bass lines, go for the pro52 or the tbl and such

bass:
detune two oscillators just a little
also a little chorus on one of them
and distortion on the second one
play with envelopes to get the sound u like
eq always important ,
bring some low-end out of yo distorted oscillator
because distortion effect takes the low frequencyz
out of the sound .
filter the shit out of it ,
try some resonated bandpass allover .
EZ.

On cubase, try the VB1 (vsti), with some effets and filters, and envelopes
It's a very power bassline, like Silicon Sound, Infected, and many more.
Keeps the vibes.

the junglist vst-synth is really a bassmachine
compress it with the kick.
eq: no ideal form/check it out by ur own
a few parameters of reverb can be helpfull
also: 2 basses can be one : sub and mid

you can use whatever vsti that you like,
you can even just put simple waveform.
the trick here is how out put the right eq so you
will match the bass with your kick.

how to match the drum wid da' bass ?
btw ,VSTI's don't make the basslinez for u ,
u make them .
so here is the trick :
first analize the frequency of yo kick and bassline
for that u can use "frequency analizer" or your ears.
Let's say your kick sound loudest at 110hz range
and yo bass sits at something like 88hz ,
(actually they both cover a larje frequency range)
one of them need to cover the "low-end" too ,
i talkin' about 35hz to 50hz stuff . (only if u neet it)
So send yo bass to eq and cut a couple of db's at
this 110hz range (loudest kick's range) ,
always cut-off everything bellow 20hz out of yo
kick&bass , and compress each one of them ,
after that u can compress them together too .
drum&bass is the strongest and one of the most
powerfull basic elementz in all dance music genres.
EZ ,
Peace. |

Sometimes a 1 osc bass can be much more fat than a 2 osc bass, dependes on the type of bass your looking for, of course. |
