im thinking of buying a powercore to run in logic 7.1(pdc)
it seems there are latency issues with it powercore, does anyone have experince with this??
i mainly want it for the virus pc maga verb and paremetric eq,is it possible to run this without it sounding out of wack, who tight can u actually get it sounding
thanx....

Yo,

Well, it will sound pretty tight if you use automatic latency-compensation in your hosting sequencer. If you want to use the Virus and play it with a snappy live feel however, it will have some additional latency. This has to do with buffersize. The Powercore sends and receives info to and from the PCI bus in memory blocks, 1 send+receive takes 2 X the time it takes for a memory-buffer block to fill. If you increase your buffersize, the powercore latency will increase twice as fast. There is a zero-latency mode for the Virus tho, but this uses way more CPU.

If you work offline its no problem, the latency compensation in logic works fine.
I record the tracks from the hardwaresynths first then i apply the powercore plugins (i use a big buffersize to get a better performance in logic, see the tc website)
