Today I heard my mom playing a song with a melody just like in Shiva Shidapu's - Power Of Celtic.
The CD was Paul Mauriat & his orchestra - The Best [CD1] , track 1 - Love Is Blue".
The melody started playing in 0:13 from the beginning of the track. Now there is a question to be asked:
Why is the same melody in shiva & paul mauriat? Did one of them copied from each other?
or just a strange coinsidence?
at least I don't think it's a coinsidence

...I havent heard the tracks so I dont know.... but I think there are many examples of this kind of 'melodic similarity'.
Track 7 on Mr peculiar's 'ELEMENTS' sounds to me like the obe melody from Disney's 'FANTASIA'..crossed with the melody from 'The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy'....!!!! Maybe it is...!!Maybe it isn't??.... but I know what ya mean SS

Surgeon, why act so surprised? many artists "borrow" ideas and melodies for their work. besides, listen again, u might hear some slight differences.

dude.. ever since James Brown tried to sue in the 80's for the sampling of the 'Funky Drummer' beat (oops showing my age there)... the stage was set and pretty much all music since then has borrowed, copied or sampled from others..... making. This was epitomised in 'PUMP UP THE VOLUME' by M.A.R.S who wrote an entire track with samples from over 100 other original recordings..!

I remember that long ago, because I was serious into trance I had this track named as "Shiva Trance - Lambada (remix)". Who came up with those names!?!?!
Anyway, the remix to Power of Celtic released on Lightbeams (SST) has some old-new melodies, which can be found on the original Impulse Tracker module, but were never used in the first track.
