no sweat, man
I will look into building my own acoustic panels my dad's a handy man so im sure he'd help me out along the way if i needed help. always can count on pops

question: did the cash u stated u spent was enuff to make bass traps for all ur room? corners only?
more info please.

(quote) and thanks! i think i won't be at home to much anymore

I can imagine, have fun with it, are u using the arc system to help u tune the room alex? how you going about in modifying your acoustics? testing and what not, its something of interest to me

i made for 2 corners from floor to ceiling, the other 2 corners were to difficult to work something out for. And that was for max. 100 euros.

To begin with i will start to work out the best place for the monitors to stand. Then i will listen to testtones to see what i discover in the acoustics. If i want big stuff like the basstraps i shown you on the pics, then i have to build something that wont hurt the walls, or buy something on stands.

I dont believe in these software's to change room acoustics by EQ'ing the monitors. I'd rather have my monitors play like they are supposed to, and make the room up the best i can. I'm excited to find out how the sound will be, but i expect it to be quite good as it is, so lets see how much i have to do for it

good advice on the software, i should just make my room better,

Because that one of them, 2 large windows meet in an angle thats wider than 90 degrees (yes its a special room) and the other one has the door almost in the corner. So the window one i would have had to make some kind af hangin solution from ceiling, and the one with the door would be less than half the width of the 2 big ones, so i did not want to waste to much energy on it. Then i planned to do some bass trapping in the corners where the ceiling and wall meets, but then i got this new external room. So after 3½ years with sleeping in the living room, its now a potential bedroom again. I dont care now tho, selling the place now           myspace.com/auralinvasion

Id like to see how that looks, cus my door has the same exact angle as yours or so it looks like from the pic, Alex if im really close to back wall due to the studio furniture wouldn't i need some diffusor instead of panels, on the back walls? kinda like these -
http://www.zzounds.com/item--AURSPACEARRAY

I think im on the right track but wanna make sure, and then have those homemade traps made up of rockwool and then wrap it up with a fabric like potato sack, right in each corner top to bottom.

how bout the ceiling? a couple diffusers and perhaps a floating ceiling type thing in the upper front side?
and more bass traps touching the celing and the back wall,
Does this sound about right?

or u think i should skip that since i got carpet floors?
I do hear a lil ringin in the room if i clap... YUCK
its like resonance is being added.

the sofa helped somewhat, in the room which was cool... well get back at me... im trying to get the picture right, thanks for your time...

ps. almost forgot what thickness u made ur traps?

Well i dont know much about acoustics really, just that small rooms can make very ugly low end resonance and requires a lot of basstraps to control. Sounds like you could use something to catch the high freq sounds on front and back wall at least. I havent started messing with diffusors yet, so lets keep it open for the experts to help out on!

The basstraps ummm......yeah i dont remember actually, but i think they were like 55-60 cm on the longest side of the triangles, quite large.

But try look on this guide, its pretty cool! http://www.radford.edu/~shelm/acoustics/bass-traps.html           myspace.com/auralinvasion

hey man thanks for the link, thats more or less what i had in mind... i believe if im a bit close to the wall that i should try to spread that sound out., you think building a wooden one like the one i put on the link above seems hard task for someone experience with carpentry? i think i should take a lil trip wit the old man and chek em out in person see if i can build some with help of course... shit don;t look easy but not impossible, plus I think with some redish varnish would look cool, in contrast to my walls.

I believe the name of the fabric is burlap...
for the panels right? you know any good types of fabric at reasonable pricing?

also didn't that itchy get on ur nerves, how long does that shit stay in the room for?
fuck! Id be tripping out, i also heard burlap kinda stinks at first any feedback on that? is it a strong odor?

No problem. I don't think it should be so difficult, unless you got 10 thumbs on your hands

I didn't use burlab, but i used something similar, it was bought in a cloth shop, selling by meters. I asked for the most dense fabric they had. I dont remember the name im sorry. Well the itching will only be while working with the mineral fiber material. you can use gloves and stuff, but it wont care, it will get to your skin! But it wont come out again as long as you cover the mineral fiber good. And not play football with the bass traps also, then you should be just fine

yeh the aeron chair's are the shit, im starting to have back and neck pains and a bit on my hands so its a potential next buy on my list before the acoustics, unfortunetaly but my well being has to come first than my music, Dont ya agree?

Totally agree, but its a nice idea and a quite big challenge to fin teh optimal balace between egronomics, usability and sound

On the other hand bad acoustics make your ears tired.
