I say again, please read what I wrote before, it answers most questions and remarks here, I feel.
Anyway, I'll say it again. We haven't punished anyone, we just arrived at a situation where a certain section of the forum was more pain that we could deal with and it turned the forum for something which is more a harrasment than an enjoyment.
And the answer to the second question- yes if the Israel section would arrive at a situation when it would be the same we would close it.
As for the main, non regional sections, if they arrive to the same point, we would probably close the forum- would you invest so much of your time and energy in something that gives you more negative feedback than positive one?
I won't.
Ppl, let it rest, we see what the future brings. Right now, with the fights moving to here as well, I don't see any indication that a change happened so far...

i don't get it...... where is the fight?? all i see is people talkin and expressing their whill to get portuguese forum re-open!! do you call this a fight? btw, i went lookin the other foruns and i saw a lot of fighings here and there, and never you came up with this solution to anyone...

At least don´t run from the problem like the other way...
Because, time of partys, festivals and so on are coming now, and the portuguese user or users don´t have any information about that partys, or if he remenbers post the party... don´t do it in other country... LOL
I just think that someone have a problem can run of it, but can´t hide, right? let's be fair...

We're not running away from the problem, we're just making it not our problem.
It used to be the Portugese users' problem and our problem as well.
We tried to urge the Portugese users to solve it for a long time, and also tried to give them all the help we could.
They failed again and again, and now it's only their problem.
Hopefully they can solve it in a while and maybe we'll try again.
Believe me, we all have enough problems belonging to us, and some others not belonging to us (but we take them anyway), and we don't need more other ppl's problems. Not when they become such big problems... ---------------------------------------------

But u must remenber that it´s not a problem of all portuguese users, like u said "they"... just a few ones...
The majority of the users, a good users like u already said, and menbers of this israteam said 2...
And now, have this users guilty to pay for others childness, or for this clown kids around???
Well i don´t think so... but with this i´m not saying that is your fault... but u must think well in this situation, because i don't belive that this action that israteam take it's not fair...

spacepenna, think of it this way: we are all very busy people. We all volunteer to work here and spend a lot of hours by the computer making this place a better place for all of us. We do not have the time or will to check each and every user from Portugal and decide if that person is a good user or a bad one. The portugal section made us concentrate too much on it which caused other sections to be neglected. We just spent too much time trying to keep it alive and didn't have time left for other sections.
Now, I'm sure you understand that this is a situtation that is dangerous for the whole forum, right?
Second, we do not want sections of this forum to be selective - almost all sections here are open to all the users to talk and comment. We will not start banning like crazy and deleting users just to keep that section alive, mainly because it is not the vibe we want to have around (we dont want to control by threats) and because it is too time consuming. Also, the past proved that method to be inappropriate for that kind of problem
Third, this forum is a community. The sub-community of Portugal didn't manage to control itself, to keep the vibe. It is not just the moderators' "job" to tell bad users off, but also the "job" of the good users. If the good users had caused the bad users to feel un-welcomed, we might not have gotten to the point of closing the section. Moreover, being an international community, the Portugal section fights managed to disturb the common good of the international public and therefore had to be controled in some way.
So far, after reading all the posts in this thread, I haven't heard one suggestion from any user here which we could use. We will not use a hard banning rule, we will not make portugal a special members-only place, we will not open it until we think it might manage to keep itself going properly.
Convince us ppl, don't fight us The decision has been made, it is spilt milk. Now convince us that when we re-open that section we won't have to close it for the third time.

i think this is a cultural issue..... portuguese people have their own culture, and "bitchin for this and that" makes part of our daily rotine!! trust me, if you lived here you would understand!! but then i don't see that as an excuse.... i know you guys spend a lot of your time workin this forum, but follow me on this one: this kind of solution reminds me when i went to the army, and my sargent (grhrrrr....) would punish all the platoon just because 2 jerks screwed up something...
i REALLY understand your point of view, but you should try to understand ours, portugues users who care a lot about this forum!!
don't know if anyone noticed, but almost every so called "bad user" of the portuguese forum has disapered... why? if they cared a bit about the all forum they would stay and post their ideas and toughts about something...wouldn't? they used to come here just to start fights and discussions, they have nothin to give to the forum but bad vibes.... and we are all paying because of that?!
sorry, but this i can't agree!! neverless, i come here every day trying to see a way to contribute whith something for this forum!!
honestly, i can't see other solution, but i have to disagree whith this one...

I think that Isratrance loose with this attitude... Portugal is one of most important countries that culture trance is alive. Why this??? When exist many forums better of this one in portuguese sites...
(RPT, #Trancepsicadélico, psytranceportugal, quest4goa, etc)... sorry my english... |

Despite i am not a common user i came here all the weeks..and
We have to respect to be respected!!
And the portuguese way is "i'll be the best in any way, respecting or desrespecting"...
Please if everyone respected the others as they wanted themselve respected the forum would remained open!!
I agree with the moderators attitude..
No one is a child that need rules..only respect is necessary!!
