When is a forum not a forum ??
When it´s in read only mode like the Portugal section of this forum. Surely the moderators can do something constructive with the forum and allow people to continue to exchange ideas.
Have you never experienced bad language before on other forums and if so how did you other moderators cope with it ?
It´s a forum for crying out loud, do you know what that word means ? |

Look it's very simple.
The Portugal section has been totally out of sync of what we believe in this forum to be the right vibe and atmosphere and ways of behaviour (which is simply and widely expained to everyone joining here).
A lot of what was written and happening there was violent, disrespectful, and stupid. There used to be endless fights, and almost every thread was turned into a stupid fight.
We've been trying for over a year to change that to no avail. We've explained, we've warned, we've closed it for a while and re-openen, we gave 10s of last warnings, some of us have actually tried to take an active part there for long spells of time and so to try and affect what was going on there positively. As with all other stuff we tried- it didn't work.
I don't know what caused the Portugal section to be like that, some of the users there are very positive and really contribute, and some that are not positive there are very positive when they're not there.
Maybe it was bad moderation, maybe it was a minority that took everyone after them, don't know. We really tried to figure it out and take steps accordingly- nothing helped.
We've really tried hard here to find the problem and the solution- including banning a lot of users- it didn't work.
So the section is closed, and will be deleted. I believe that the bad vibes will diffuse with time, and those that came here only for the Portugese section fights will leave. The people that enjoy this forum in general will stay.
Then maybe in a year from now we can re-open it. Maybe, we'll see what the future brings.
When something here becomes so much trouble it takes out the fun in the forum for us- it's gone. Again, very simple. And quite fair I think.

wowowo i cant beleive this is shamefull for us,
if u have a problem u cannot simply forget it or leave it behind you must try to solve it,
i think that the moderators of the pt section were not active moderators and I want to blame them but they didnt do nothing to solve the mess, they could simply help to clean the mess but.... they didnt do almost nothing,
i realy hope that this section open soon,

you´re wrong papix :-(
for several times the pt moderators tried to clean up the mess... although this had been an lost efford once there were some users that continualy tried to bug the section with they´re faceless and coward atitude...
now, i think it was a bad decision once is like you said... it wont solve the problem... just leave it behind...

please mister Eksco, you was moderator so it was your home...I saw with my eyes a lot off posts that were so offensiv,and you didnt do enything.Why?!Just becouse you agree with most of them.
You cant be moderator,when you are totaly jealous to the almoust all this massive portiguese scene.

That is the big truth here...
Because, just because soem kids around, remenber to creat some mess, and the forum is deleted...
Well the decision it´s not the best, because don´t resolve nothing, just give time to isratrance team think in or what to do about all this...
But, and the users of Portuguese Forum?
Like Karnaf have said, are many good users in Portuguese Section, many are where for so long time, because we have so many Full menbers and junior menbers... It's a sinal of the Portuguse Section have life... and all these, and the others who have in this section, the information about portuguese scene...
They are paying for something that they don´t do, right?
It's this fair???
I´m not blaming anyone for this, but it's some kind of disrespect about all this people...
Just my opinion...

i had one ideia maybe thats not possible... but why not a special login to the portuguese seccion(just to post and be active).. people send an email to a chosen moderator that regist or not that user on the portuguese seccion. that way the bad users dont post stupid things and leave the forum... and the moderator will be a very active moderator for some times.. until this kids grow up...
karnaf do you think this is possible?
and people we all know that if the portuguese seccion open nomaly.. even if the mod pass all day deleting posts..will not be a good solution..
instead of sayng that is unfair.. think on a way..
if theres no way delete will be the best option.

I think that there were hughe problems in the portuguese section of the forum, but I also think that this was a bad solution.
Me and several hundred people have no fault for this but we are also paying a unfair price.
I won´t be using isratrance untill you reopen our section.

Nobody tried doing anything the past year.
I told you all several times that it is your community, and if you want it to exist whithin this forum you'll have to take care of it.
We tried so many times. Just some organized pressure from everyone on these disturbers could have solved that, if they were really such a minority.
But I don't think this was the case- the overall atmosphere of your scnese as projected through the forum was one of fights and bad vibes.
That was the main tone. This tone was disturbing to us. There were problems in other sections as well, but they were always solved.
Let's take a rest for a while and see what happens.

c'mon guys...you people put djs on the commands...
dj's here in portugal are even more than their mothers
they kill themselves to be the best ones!
this is all about the djs lol
1 in each 5 portuguese users users is not a dj.
I think that those "buggers" act more like a [satire*] than stupidly, i mean, you can see by their writings that they'r not dumb people..and they're just too many to be all stupid, they have a point and i believe they were all the old users of isratrance.these lokos and all the other kids are just KIDS and dont belong here!
