You weren't there dude. I was, and I saw smiles as far as I could see and felt mostly good vibes everywhere I went. If you want to go and draw conclusions based on bashing reviews, that's fine by me, but my experience was amazing, and I think I'll draw my conclusions from my experience, rather then from bad vibes on a internet forum.

Yes kriz, i believe it is... I already went to some european festivals in the past 12 years, and FOR ME boom offers more then the others. every step there is special... but im not saying that the others dont have quality, i enjoyed a lot other festivals, and i had great experiences also in other countries and i will never forget it.
Im not saying that all was great at boom this year, because it was not... lot of repetitive problems like the car line to enter the festival... the only solution is to change the place, but in other hand, you must consider the real spot for the party, and place available to put all that they have to offer... is something that they should think about, and in my opinion the solution is to change BOOM to other country.
Regarding the virus, people can say whatever they want... the root cause was not founded (yet), and for me, i get the fever and vomit, and i did the same has my friends... we were a crew of 14 people, who went to the lake, who eat in the same places, took the same drugs, and so on...
One thing that one doctor said in the hospital was that one probable cause could be the diferent medical pathologys present in the festival due the fact that more then 80 countries were present there... think about it!!!
The Org was forced to stop selling tickets by authorities, and not by their own will... keep this in mind!
Also the prices of the food were very high... but not in all restaurants, and ppl had the chance to come outside to buy food... the village is very near, and boom had bus's everyday to come outside and take ppl to do whatever they wanted in one hour waitting of the bus... this is enough time to by stuff to eat and drink. I did it almost all the days.
Kind of funny, when people are bitching regarding the cost of food, and then they spent large amounts of money in drugs, and in clothes, fantasies... ok,ok... souveniers, right?!
Good things, and bad things, this will always happen... it happens in normal parties during the year, obviously would happen in a Festival with more then 30.000 and during 7/8 days...
We are waitting for the Org that will born someday nd will organize something with Boom dimension, and in the end everyone will be happy.

I'm sorry for all people who had bad experiences. I know that many bad things happend. But I want to throw another light on some things all the same. I don't want to offend anyone. Just contribute another perspective to allow more distinctive analysis of the Festival.
finitly came often with great expectations, were disappointed and went into negative vibes missing all the good things.
Being welcomed by long lines for everything, high food prizes and dirty toliets led to many people having negative emotions and therefore perceiving more and more only negative things.
Let me put an example with the music. I was at the Ozora before the Boom and heard the Tristan live act. People were freaking out and loved the music.
Then, Tristan at the last day of Boom. As far I can tell it was the same liveact but people stood around, bored, many people found the music bad.
I think a couple of negative factors (see bellow), together with expectations and bad attitudes from too many guests led to bad emotions and therefore to bad vibes at times and to many of the reports here.
I had a good time and I felt many other people too!
+ I was deeply impressed by all the love that has been put into countless details.
+ Ranging from little gardens, sculptures to architectural stunning tentconstructions.
+ It was amazing how far the BoomTeam went in trying to be ecologic.
+ It was wonderful to wander around nipping a bit from a lecture there, listening to a concert there and attend a workshop somewhere else. Some break and bath in the trypical beach, wandering over the boommade (what an effort) bridge, hanging on the pedaldriven raft or simply dancing on the dancefloor.
+ I liked the simplistic look of the dancefloor since I find the excessive fluorodeko look only distracting from important things. Ozora had even less deco which I found even better.
After all decoration is just "decoration". Nothing essential, just surfacial stuff like makeup. I don't need it.
+ I spent hours in being impressed of how they hanged up the towels of the dancefloor and of all the unique metal and wood construction they created in different places.
+ I heard new liveacts from all around the world. Some really good! I liked the lineup. I heard too many famous and overpriced liveacts putting a laptop and standing beside it. at Boom I was surprised by the quality of unknown artists. I didn't miss any famous name.
+ Surprisingly clean area!
+ Water was used to reduce dust!
+ Almost daily Newspaper !
+ Organic drinks at boom bar, prizes also fair at boom bar!
+ Wirless internet for all!
+ Very friendly boomstaff everywhere!
+ Amazing diversity in Art!
+ A lot of Organic or Vegan food made with love! Big diversity in food!
+ Wondeful concept and engagement from the boom team! We can change the world! I really believe that this effort can shift paradigms!
+ lakewater very nice and clean (at trypical beach - didn't try elsewhere)
As far as I'm informed there were little less then 30000 people and about 600 Artists (in all areas).
As from my experience in organizing festivals and little caluculations in manhours needed during and the half year before the festival I'm actually not too sure, that there is so much money left after all. Mostly guests completely underestimate the effort and money needed for an event. especially if it lasts a week. Only the 600 Artists (travels, org and fees) must have eaten up around half a million euro... I know that several people worked over 4 months fulltime just to organize all the artists.
As from my encounters with the boom team (since I played there) I had never the impression that money was a ruler in this festival. Everybody I met seemed to work out of pure idealism.
Even though I see much more positive things I personally find the following negative points the objective ones to be told to Boomorganisation:
- Too few capacity for entrance - that could have been forseen
- No light in toilets leads to dirty toilets in the morning
- Too few toiletcleanings (plastic toilets)
- Too few foodstands
- Watermonopole held by boombar.. that stinks a bit.. sorry.
- Groovy Beach distracted atmosphere and vibes from the mainfloor.
- Foodstands too expensive - why? Boom fees? I hope not.
In my opinion this was partially bad luck. A bad combination of a couple of unfortunte factors. Next time it will be great overall.
Big Respect for the Boom Team, and thank you very much for giving me the chance to play! Most of my music for you to download at:

Are you kidding? I was completely blown away by Tristan live act, and the people around me couldn't stop dancing and smiling. Music wise the highlight of the festival for me. Also enjoyed very much Laughing Buddha, Dj Regan, N.A.S.A., Shadow Fx, Tetrameth, Dj Zen, The First Stone, your live act (a total surprise for me) and Bigwigs.
But we have to give special credit to Shadow FX for spicing things a bit. Did anyone watched this:
Hahahah... One of the great moments of the festival for me. She first went topless to the stage. Security made her come down. 5 or 10 minutes later there she was again, this time completely naked. Will definetely play some Shadow Fx next time I have some chicks over.

First, i want to thank you and greet you for the amazing set you played...iwas really impressed (it sucked that you had some small interruption - machines will always let you down) ...
Second, the music and deco critics are pure lack of attention of the ones present and the usual bullshit from those who were never there
Thanks for the fairness of your review...its good to see some of it!!!!

Jus my Opinion after reading lotZaa reviews , I would like to say that Orgnizing such a Massive Event is a HUGE Responsibility towards the Guests who were Present in this Mega EVENT & Freinds nuthin is Perfect in this , However we can make MOST out of wat we GET ......
I thought BOOM Crew did their Best to Deliver that SMILE on Lots of FACES upto their Potential & will be Delivering in Near FUTURE ,,,
BOOM UVV Project / Mandala Project / Crystal noize Project / Cosmic Crew
Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.

most positives you mention were there in 2006 as well... for half the price... mh, and 600artists eating half a million when you can easily calculate ca.30000 * 125 (an average of presale and 160€ doorprice) = 3.75 million € - 500.000 eaten by artists makes 3.25million € ...
mmmmh, quite a lot left
anyways, i think its always just a subjective thing, because party is what everybody is doing out of it for himself/herself... i was very happy in 2006, this year i didnt want to go... and think it was the right decision....

Wow, there's a lot of negativity here. Personally I thought it was probably the best festival I have ever been to.
Yes there were some negatives, but there always are. I found the people fantastic and friendly, the food extensive (and a bit pricey) but you could find value if you looked. The beer was a fair price at €2 and there was plenty of free water everywhere.
I wasn't there in 2006, but it was definitely a much better festival than 2004.
Some complain about the music - certainly it wasn't all to my tastes, but there was enough to find plenty I did like, and anytime I didn't like something I could go and explore elsewhere!
And whatever the party or festival, trance people seem to be against promoters making money. It would surprise me if the promoters didn't make €1m but so what, they have the most successful festival in the world, and if they are not making some money out of it there is something very wrong.
Too many people seem to be happy to party and not care that promoters make a loss. This only ends one way - in promoters stopping putting on parties. You only have to see what Boom has created to know that money is not the sole objective, but so what if some of the organisers make some money when it is a success. Will any of you care if only 15,000 people turned up and they had of lost €1m? If you take the risk with your money and it works, you deserve the rewards.
Are there ways that Boom could be improved? Of course, but it's still THE FESTIVAL and personally I cannot wait to get back there in 2010 and I hope it's at the same site!
