I wanted to post my opinion before the Fest, but decided to leave the good vibe and positive vibrations for those who were headed to BOOM without my thoughts.
Now,what i want to say is that year by year I can clearly see the transformation of the wonderfull psychedelic idea into a huge commercial money machine, covered itself with the idea of underground worldwide trance tribe unity.
I was visiting BOOMs from 98,and had a great honour and pleasure to play on 2000 edition,in the old good BOOM time, and after that I see every year the regression of the basic concept of the trance festival.
Wordless, the organisation of BOOM is the higher level existing nowadays,as well as the incredible cultural events there, but ,originally ,we are suppose to be neo hippies, and just look how much people spend in 7 days on Boom- same ammount of the life in the Big European City of r 2-3 weeks.Hippies???!!!Sorry.....Not really...
And,open your eyes - the level of prices for the tickets is not really fare for the line up ( I dont say about good or bad,but more of the Live acts and DJs are still not in the 1st grade ,so thats why they agree for the really cheap price that BOOM org is paying for the performances - more for promotion or chance to play for a big crowd.
I mean, look the FOOL MOON line up - it costs 5 times more, and the prices are very less.
Also the food on BOOM year by year is unexplainable expensive. And what to do -people are paying, they dont have other chance, same as at the Bar situation.

I feel happy for those BOOM lovers who enjoyed
the fest - the gathering of amasing people - this is the most important part, anyway, and it happened for sure, but for me....I skipped this time, and enjoyed other place...sea beach...parties everyday for 1 month on 10 dancefloors...and dont have a hole in the pocket, but wonderful memories.
With all respect for BOOM team for the years of hard work,I dont think BOOM will go backwords to Psychedelic Trance roots, and will continuosly go on in the Commercial Story.
It s so pity

True, Frank_E Dj set was very good!

What about the night before, more or less at the same time (11pm-1am)? Who were those two guys, one with long black air (kindda looked like Ozzy )?

Together with Texas Faggott, they were the best I eard during night time!

he was prob referring to the extreme conditions:
-20 hours of queue in a car with no water or toilets in desert
-40c° all day and people taking abnormal quantities of rugs (always more amphetamines...)
-a contaminated lake
-overcrowding i.e. queues for water, food.
-from a post: a dj was a medic?!
-dirty toilets
etc...

the phrase was put very badly but i can see where he is coming from...!

RIP to our brothers!!
----------------------
regarding the rest....and i think XP summed up everything perfectly (never thought i would agree with him...)
I was expecting super surprises for this year...but nothing= make more €€€€€??!

thats why 06 was my last boom!
but hey...... keep on booming all around!!!!

There were many contradictory things at BOOM, just to mention one of them, I think the biggest: Boom's main concept is a sustainable environment, which includes people and organizers paying attention on the environment and being conscious about their consumer habits. I was impressed by many things at the festival which seemed to respect these ideas. But when I saw the water bottled and labeled by Boom festival in 0.5 l plastic bottles (and sold at 1 euro ONLY by Boom retailers) I was very disappointed. I don't think that using thousands of plastic bottles and branding potable water for 1 euro is a way of having a sustainable environment. This aspect of the Boom made me feel disappointed and think that Boom organizers placed a bigger emphasis on financial success rather than making the boom concept work.

Is there anybody who could post the correct timetable here, or the adjustments? So not the one you got at the entrance, but the schedule of how it really went. I would really like to know the correct order and names of DJs who played before Kasey Taylor at the Groovy Beach. It was the best minimal I ever heard.

BOOM!

the real truth

LOL, the truth from someone who speaks under the real comercial FESTIVAL made here in Portugal...

If you weren’t there you better go to other place else with your "memories" Mr. grandfather... yes, we know that all the djs that performed in boom are in kindergarden, and that only you have enough value to play there... we know that, you dont need to be constantly remind us of it...

Cool is to pay for Israeli super-stars, that we have here all the time during the year, and then pay again to see them AGAIN year after year in the same festival that is very nice!

You know what? When you go to the cinema, you pay to see a movie that you already saw? Or you like to be surprised??? I heard better music in BOOM this year when compared with parties that i went during the year in Portugal!

You really think that people would change their opinion in going to boom if you wrote all that before the Festival? Man, you really have a problem!!!

BOOM was and still is the best festival in Europe, and im not saying that the others dont have quality, because they do... the diference betwen them is that they dont care only about the dancefloor line-ups... and it looks like you only care about that isnt it? The one's that were there since the beggining like me in all editions know exactly that BOOM s much more than music...

Music is just a component there, and them come here and talk bad about line-ups or decorations, is because you didnt enjoyed the "real festival"...

Btw, XP, from someone that is always pointing the finger to others because they dont express very well their English: its FULL MOON.... not "FOOL MOON"... ...hehehe, couldnt resist
