I'm sorry for those who had bad experiences at Boom, for me it was simply briliant!
For those who complain about the prices and problems with the Boom bus, i don't understand why you didn't choose to rent a car. For those prices you could have rented a car for the all week and still have some money left.
Can anybody tell me who was playng in the mainfloor on Friday night between 11pm and 1 am? Top notch!

My fifth boom... once again a brilliant expirience
Iīts obvious that this culture are getting bigger every day it pass, and tht brings along good and bad things to the scene.
itīs comun to see and point the bad things because humans have that facilitie... itīs a fact tht humans feel more confortable saying bad things than the good things.
anyway the problems tht this huge amount of trance fanīs bring in my poin of vew are:
- less spirit
- more wanna beīs
- lack of trueness in the general feeling
the good things are:
- more conditions
- more diversity
-bigger feeling of quantity/union
Saying tht i belive that this rules are becoming more and more present in the boom editions and itīs a fact that every single time that goodmood organize a festival of this magnitute and side by side with the increase of popularity they have to work for that...
... and that means a lot more dedication more meanings more staff more conditons more money etc etc etc....
And for me Boom crew are very professional organizers and i totaly belive in their effort. And i really hope they can take profit from all this because if i see people taking profit from organize horrible events ( i know wht im talking because i work in this area) boom crew realy deserv it, belive me.
As for the festival itself. realy had a good time with all my firends thts this year were so many... the food was good the deco according to the concept was amazing like always . in my opinion as a sun lover the sound was massive, the best boom in terms of music in the dancefloor (didnīt went to the 2006 edition)
brilliant effort to clean the festival area, never saw nothing like tht anywhere in the world.
All i can say itīs congratulations to the BOOM crew and thanks to every people that made this festival possible and that includes all the trancers.
and last but but not least the aids team were very efective.
Congratulattion to the fireworkers and to the paramedics thts helped many of my friends tht cought tht horrible germ...
anyway...hope to see everyone in 2010!! if not in other festival during the summer of 2009 ;-)

Lovely festival for me too!
First came the chronic boom problem, the big queue, I had 11 hours of it and heard some people had 20, that's a lot! Next time I will arrive in the next day so I can escape it.
Music side, loved Menog, rastaliens, Surya Namaskar, Tristan, Nick's dj set, Burn in Noise and more that I cant remember:(
The deco, we can't compare with 2006 because a different theme was chosen, Still, I loved it!
For the people complaining about the price I want to ask: how the hell can boom team pay fees and flights of 800 artists, build those huge infrastructures or recycling one all week of peoples's garbage without having expensive tickets? I mean if you go to another festival you pay less 30/40 per ticket but can you even compare it to boom in terms of final cost? This fest is expensive because there is a LOT of money invested in there that's all, and I dont care giving away 95 for all I've seen heard or experienced this past week.
Finishing, BRAVO and thank you very much BOOM team for providing us this week of pleasure once again, I will be back in too years for sure! |

For my friends and I, Boom 08 was a bit disappointing. And we're really sad to say that. But there were many things that didn't work as they should.
I understand that Boom 2006 was amazing and the expectations were probably too high, but anyway it could and should have been better organized.
1) Deco: imo it was really poor. Ambient forest was exceptionally empty. No deco, no lights, almost no nothing. Even the soundsystem wasn't enough to avoid the interference with groovy beach.
2)Danceflor: too dirty, with not enough round stones that prevent dust. And, where were the lasers? It wasn't psychedellic at all at night. A pitty for sure.
3)Distances and paths: it was easier to get lost, specially while tripping. Nothing compared to 2006 when you could go smoothly from one place to another. This is the thing i missed the most. Not enough lights inbetween the main areas.
4)Cars: For God's sake! I even saw a trailer going around!! This was dangerous and not acceptable for a festival prettending to be what Boom pretends.
5) Toilets and showers: to few for the amount of people. Bad placed (remember the square places with the guy giving you disinfectant in 2006??) and too dirty too early.
For me day Boom worked much better than at night. I have the impression that they left to many things for the last second, and could not pay attention to the details. And the details make a huge difference.
Anyway, Boom was a blast, as always. We had a great time and enjoyed the relaxed mood, the smiles, the good vibe and people and so many other things.
We know Good Mood can make it much better, because we've seen it. Let's hope next edition matches our (maybe too) high expectations.
BOOM! |

I have to disagree with all that complained about the music....!!!!! Music in the dancefloor had great acts at night, in the morning and through the afternoon...
I also dont like the multi-stage concept but that doesnt serve as an excuse for a fact...the music was generally good (ex: Rastaliens, Mubali, Atriohm, Behind Blue Eyes, Surya Namaskar, Antagon, Tristan, Ajja, Bedouin & Hamish, etc...) - i simply dont get why are people complaining about the music. Wait, i do!!!! Its a ISRATRANCE favourite sport....
Its also sad to see so many incapable of accepting(and enjoying) different concepts..."we have to have lasers and ultra colourful deco all the time"...such lame!!!!
With this i dont say that it was perfect( i've read and heard some sad happennings there)...but its sad to see so much lack of attention in many of the comments!!!!!

There are so many people here afraid of telling the truth because of being stuck in the pose of being positive and so on.
What this festival clearly shows is that the spirit of "love and peace" has been sold for pennies and thrown to the pigs. The organizers just use all of this as a gimmick.
This festival for the organizers was obviously about nothing but money making with no consideration or respect towards the people whom they made there money out of. This is very offensive towards the people who pay for the tickets, and towards the people who added so much intellectual and creative input to the festival.
First of all there was the queue; just to get in there was a long line of cars completely blocking the way to and from the festival which could have caused fatalities in case of an emergency, and there was nobody to control the traffic. People waited even a whole day to get inside with their cars, even just to walk from the nearest accessible point took three to four hours on the sun, and there were no toilets or access to water on the way. Only to get in and find more queues, lines for shower, lines for water lines for food and for toilets. I have seen festival of 400 000 people with no one having to wait more than two hours to get in in the first day, and it only had one entrance too. I feel for the people who were mislead by the organizers who only concentrated on selling their last tickets, but forgot to remind people that those are limited, and might not be enough for everybody.
The water supply inside of Boom was also horrible, there were taps of water with water coming from god knows where, but I'm sure it was not drinking water and it was full of chlorine, many kitchens cooked with water from the lake which was infected (no wonder since people used the lakes as toilets) and caused diarrhea for lots of people who didn't even get in the lakes. The only clean drinking water was sold only in half llitre (branded) bottles for a Euro, but with normal water consumption this would amount to 6 to 10 Euros a day so many people couldn't afford it and had to poison themselves with the tap water.
And after the first couple of days the toilets also became a major problem as most of them were not cleaned or otherwise maintained. There were three kind of toilets:
Urinals: for men it was a pipe cut in the half which they had to pee in, and a tube led the urine to a barrel, no privacy of course. The female urinals were bordered with improvised walls, but there were no divisions so you could watch eachother doing no. 1. These were also barrels filled with sawdust to wee on.
Toilets for no. 2:
These were improvised toilets leading to barrels as well, with kind of walls around them and a door that leaves five centimeter gap when it closes so you could catch eye with the passerbys while you are supposed to take shit with half a dozen of flies on your ass. Some of these toilets were regularly cleaned, however they were not an option for the fans of privacy.
So there were the mobile toilets which could have been an option if they give them a thorough clean at least once a day, but this didn't happen in many cases until the 5th day, so they had overflowing shit, shit on the seats, and even on the walls, you could smell them from sixty meters. Given that there were toilets on about every two hundred meters, most time you had to smell shit in the second half of the festival. This was really frustrating that there was no decent or at least acceptable way of going to toilet. People started peeing around and even craping into the showers.
I think the music was pretty shit too, but this is a subjective opinion, but pretty objectively they didn't spend much money on the line up either, I'm sure many of the people were playing for free. And the music also pretty objectively didn't start playing until the second evening of the theoretically seven day festival
And the Deco was poor too.
Maybe I look too demanding asking for free water and conditions that help me preserve my dignity as a human, but the fact is that the organizers were demanding too with the prices. They ask for so much money that would be enough for them to bring Michael Jackson and still have money for proper infrastructure.
How Boom got commercial you could see it by the people as well, a lot of people were turists or punks, and you could see many people who didn't even go there to have fun, but to steel, or to sell cocaine, which appeared to be the most and only commonly sold drug at boom.

I dont like dark, so i slept all nights and go to dance every morning, i enjoyed a lot those moments.
In the groovy beach kasey taylor rocks a lot... hehe
And, a friend of mine got sick, really sick, he was doing poo with blood... we have to go one day before because he was really bad. We couldnt go to utopia
Medical service was very ok, im really happy with that.
I have a bad a impression about this year, it seems to be a moneymoney festival. It was my last year on boom |

Don't forget that boom probably has one of the best paramedics in the world, or at least he thinks he is. A dj and a paramedic at the same time! He's a fucking star!
People (mostly workers) suffering with high fevers, vomiting and diarreas with blood on it were put at their tent with an Ultra Levur without even checking their temperature! A worker friend of mine went to the hospital because he called the emergency line or else he would be stuck at his tent for not drawing attentions to the sanitary inspection who was this close to shut down the festival. I will report this P-Mac idiot, believe me.
This year I worked there, now i realized i wont even go there again to have fun. People must realize that boom as it was is over.
Oh, and trust me, probably it isn't Diogo's fault. There's new blood in the org and his name is Alfredo.
I know much more that people wouldn't even believe, but unfortunatly for you and fortunatly to the organizers i will shut my mouth and make my full review by letter, lets say, to the sanitary inspections or ASAE who where totally deceived by the organizers.
Also, as someone said before, dont blame only the org, lots of animals were there which are also called as "party people". Children with 2 years old with those climateric conditions? Get a grip dudes, I wont even sit my feet in a psy party again in my life.
