Hi,

I am Goa & am planning on coming to Boom 2008. But since,i've never been to a festival before(only parties in Goa from 1998). I had a couple of questions, with regards to what are the other options for cheap accomodation if you don't/want to stay in a tent at the campsite. Coz lugging a tent all the way from here, is going to be a task with the baggage people at my budget airline.

Buy a tent in Portugal, expecting that you can go/leave the area as you please is pure imagination, the roads leading to the area are narrow, and in the first days they will be blocked by entering festival guests.

Otherwise use the old Zoolog festival guide which states:
"Dont bring anything - sleep in the chill" (last year i got some thing stolen from my camp while sleeping, this wont happen in the chill).

If you like "dark" music, you will sleep during the day, in that case, shadow is the only thing of importance.
If you like "colour" music consider a sleeping bag for the rather cold nights.

Yeah, I am going to be bringing lots of shade. It will probably help find my way back to my tent (if its imperatif that I bring one). Do you know if the organisers of Boom, offer a locker facility to store passports & cash?? I am coming alone as well, so am really walled up tryin to figure things out.
Since, you've been to Boom 2006, do you happen to know if how far is the closest hotel/ hostel/ village accomodation to the Boom site.

In Goa, at any party, you just take your bike & head to the beach or one of the shacks or ur room or out in the wilderness. Its defintely something, have you been to Goa??
But, i am really looking forward to Boom 2008. Do you know if they will allow DJ's who are unheard of in Europe (me) to play, if I perhaps sent the organisers a DEMO mixed session of mine & they like it??
My apologies to be bothering you with so many questions, just that I've never been to anything on this magnitude in my life. Just wanna come prepared!!

Boom!!

Mm Propunk maybe buying a tent in Portugal is a better idea as Zoolog said, because trust me, you won't never leave the Boom area to reach an accomodation ... too far away and anyway you'll lost time and part of the festival. So it is better if you buy the tent, and then leave it to someone when you are coming back to your country. I think there is a locked place where you can leave your passport and cash, I read it somewhere but you have to check it out on the Boom website.

Thanks for the tip, Hymal.
Looks like I will take your advice & buy a tent in Lisbon. Can't wait for next year!!
Gonna have to start some serious activity on my savings account.

Just a curios question, does anyone know this guy in the green shirt on the picture? its a brazilian dude, he shared with me many dancefloor moments on the boom 06 and i was wondering if somebody perhaps knew him, to pass me his contact.

Yep, u r right, but the "action" will be beetwen 12 and 17 August...
The doors will open in 11, and the music will start in the 12... Then, the Festival will end the 17 at 23.59... Finally the doors will close in the 18 at the end of the day...

You can check all this in their website, in the NEWS section... it is the first article on the 06.Sep.2007

hoping is one thing you have to do it .Being one of the thousands of freaks at the Boom is such a special thing even for a promoter of another fest .I am always amazed by the mother of all psy festivals ,the BOOM!
The Boom is so much more than just a festival its a ritual of some sort.
I hope lot of you will come to Ozora first and then we can all party together at the BOOM cause that will be my holiday for sure!!

I just love the BOOM !

peace

hello,
since approximatly 1997 i cant find my way home
im lost and it seems like some villains like lord full-on took over my lands, changing it from a happy full of emotion land to a boring mechanic technical land!!
in the meanwhile, can portugal be my new home? maybe for only 5 days? i have info that many people that left my land because of the full-on invasion will be there, and i remember tails when i was a child that this festival was an attraction to many of my residents! so to make my old friends happy will you let me BE?

sincerly yours,
GOA TRANCE

i'll probably go from Ozora to Boom by van, its about 3000 km I think.
It will be a loooong drive, but i reckon to leave the morning after ozora ends and take it easy, drive to boom in 3-4 days. then i'll just miss the loooong line at boom entrance...
only question is; how is the camper-camping at boom. Its pretty crowded right? will there be some place left if i arrive late? is it possible to camp accross the lake and cycle or paddle to the partygrounds?

I dont think so....but you should contact the org.
On one side of the lake usually its held the anti-boom and i dont think the org. will want to check if someone coming from the lake is wearing the bracelect or not.
Nevertheless i saw in the last edition people camping on the other shores of the lake so maybe its possible...

Big boom!!!!!

The Boom Bus service will be held in order to help out all the people that want to come to the Boom directly from the airports. We’re also upgrading this service as the Boom Bus service is also a way for people to avoid carbon emissions. We suggest all people that want a pleasant Boom and a better environment to come to the gathering with the Boom Bus: it’s more ecological, comfortable, cheaper and safer.

The Boom Book And The New DVD

Anticipating the next Boom, two projects will be released.
The “Boom Book” is a book made throughout the year of 2007. A masterpiece of art and culture celebrating Boom´s 10th anniversary. It’s a pioneering book designed in avant-garde visual style and full of in-depth contents. Written by artists, anthropologists, journalists and photographers reflecting the Boom experience and its place of visionary culture in today’s world. It’s the Boom contributions for the perspectives towards the present and future reality(ies).
The Boom DVD will be an outlook of Boom 2006. An introduction for next edition. It’s a synthesis of the spirit, an emotional and funny document that catches the familiar spirit of “We Are One”. A filmed message for the human consciousness.

Hi Nikita,
Can you tell me the difference between the regular tickets & "Ambassador" tickets. Also, I did register with www.boomfestival.org/ for their newsletter & I have'nt recieved any information from them. It would be very helpful if you could shed some light on where I need to subscribe for the Boom'08 newsletter.
Lastly, how do i figure out if my country figures in the "Economic Developing Countries - List".
