Now what's this joke bout the boombus about?
There's no boombus tickets available anymore?
How insane!
I got my boom ticket, my planeticket, and now we're stuck!?
According to the website, 'the Boombus tickets are available at the gate'!
What!?????
Another one, I've just send them en E-mail to info@boomfestival.org.
Turns out, the E-mail address isn't working and I get my Emails returned, great!
Great organization!
I can't believe it.
Public transport is probably real crappy in Portugal and Spain, wouldn't surprise me if it takes a day or 2 to get to the Boom festival from Madrid. |

Don't freak out man!
From Madrid there is direct public bus to Castello Branco. It takes 8-9 hours to get there. Im sure that in Castello Branco you will find many people who can give you a ride to the festival. I did the same way 4 years ago and it was fun.
Have a nice trip!

yes we did it 2 years ago. just order the bus tickets in advance. from castelo u get a quick bus to idana-a-nova, n the local bus from the village 2 the lake (that will already b more colorfull n festy then the boom bus itself..).
from madrid to the festival in 14 h.
not too bad at all.

Has anybody travelled to Boom by public transport before?
The bus from Castelo Branco to Idanha-a-Nova, is it easy to find from the train station? Is it adjacent to the train station like i'd expect it to be?

i think it's in the same bus station (lisbon/castelo branco and castelo branco/idanha).. i don't know about the trains
When I dance, I put myself in the DJ's hands to take me to a journey - the unconscious journey to reality

Timetables: http://www.interrailnet.com/2_timetables
For those still needing transportation to the festival, Castelo Branco is the closest town, only 35km. The best stations to depart from in Lisbon are Oriente or Entrecampos (enter these stops into the timetable). Journey time 3 hours. You can also get interrail passes that last for up to 8 days of travel (you will most likely only need 3) and is valid for 1 month. A second class 3 day ticket costs £55 and the website takes Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, Solo and CartaSi.
