Just hope they drop that ultra dark mentality for the dancefloor in 2008... there's more to psychedelic than schizofrenic trance all night long.
I know, I know. Boom is not about the music, but, some people actualy go there to enjoy a great time dancing their favorites tunes with a huge smile in ther face. Give us more variety

VARIETY ... wise words
|
|
With all respect....but I'm so tired of this. I'm not a big fan of the most extreme dark shit personally, but Boom's always been about variety. Without pointing fingers here, but there are so many people always complaining about NO VARIETY as soon as THEY don't have what THEY want on a 24/7 base....come on, drop the crap....there's been plenty of music for everyone and certain music gets simply played at certain times because it fits the time of the day best. You can't expect to get fluffy isra/ibiza morning trance or melodic stuff or progressive/electro in the night and to have hard/twilight and dark psy at the daytime. Stay in bed if you don't like it @ night and dance ur ass off in the day...or the other way. Enjoy things for once in ur life instead of always bitching about anything that's not perfect and exactly like YOU want it. You're not the center of the universe ya know....there's lots of people out there and the Boom crew does their very very best to assure as many people have a good time as possible. Nobody's perfect....it's impossible to satisfy everybody, specially the ones who are never satisfied. Maybe change your attitude a bit and you might suddenly have 10x more fun. Besides...opening your mind or just simply enjoying others having fun is also something that makes me and others have fun, what's more beautiful then to see your fellow earthlings have fun and to be happy I don't dig a lotta progressive/electro stuff for example, but when I see a floor is bouncing and a collegue dj/djane is rocking the floor and having fun, then I simply go bounch my ass off with all my friends, with a big smile on my face and I shut up...and if I really don't like it...well..BOOM is big enough and varieted enough to have fun somewhere else don't you think
P.S. That line-up of 1997 rocked....I remember I so wanted to go there, knowing all my favourite artists were playing...even my buddy Troy (Rev - Doof Records nowadays) who I just played with last weekend on the Vuuv was allready in the line-up...and many other friends...legendairy line-up, I mean...Slinky Wizard/Technossomy and so on, those were the best Flying Rhino days for me ever.....BOOM is still on top of things after 10 years...respect to Diogo, Pedro and all crew Mind Funk Records

To Shawnodese:
Im not bitching as you said... on the contrary, im totally open mind to all experiences, including music.. i respect others artists work because i can look with diferent eyes to diferent projects...
i have my tastes like the rest of the World...
If you were in 2006 BOOM, perhaps you remenber the line-up... NO, it had no variety... as you said there was no "fluffy isra/ibiza morning trance or melodic stuff"...
I will pay all the money in the world to went to BOOM, but last year the artists invited wasnt good enough for the amount of money payed by thousands of ppl... Im not the only one with the same opinion...
Please stick yourself and your posts to BOOM 2008 and dont try to make any kind of "fight" because of my music observation...
It is my observation and you should respect it, ok?!
Im not a selfish person.. I know that they spent a lot of money in several things... no one does it best like BOOM crew... all the dance floors, the village, everything was perfect, as always!
All this to say that i loved 2006 edition, as i loved all the editions since '97...
In 2008 i'll be there and im certain that i will love it again because i know that BOOM crew will do (AGAIN) a great job!
No ofense Shawnodese, but i dont need moral lessons from anyone

Are you having a bad day or something?
If you went to BOOM 2002 you would understand variety. You would witness Xenomorph playing dark in the morning, some Djs playing happy full-on in the evening. Some wonderfull nights of progressive trance, etc, etc. That was variety!
Besides, when you're in the dancefloor and people you don't know tell you how the music is too agressive you get the sense that you are not alone in this world. The third night I remember someone fucking angry, "this is too underground", and ran away from the dancefloor with his hands on his ears. I laught my ass off...one hour later I left the dancefloor for the same reason. :/
Anyway, I think you get my point, and please stop making judgment about other people. Who are you to say X or Y is a spoiled kid who only wants to hear what he likes 24/7 ?
I could also say X is one of those guys who thinks he is the only one holding the truth and thinks everyone else is incompetent or idiot.
****
Anyway, I hope Diogo and the BOOM crew consider this and create something special for 2008. For a 7 day festival I would like to hear everything, from Goa to Progressive, from dark to light. You know, younger people these days don't even know what Goa trance is. :/ It's a shame.
And play melodic in the evening and dark in the morning every now and then. You know the feedback is always positive.
and...
see you in 2008!! =)

Huh were we at the same Boom?
Boom 2006 had some of the best dark, fullon, progressive, minimal and psytrance artists. Enough variation too me!
I liked the dark in the night, so I could sleep at night, and get up in the morning on some groovy and deep progressive beats
It's all good.

It took me 20 minutes to come up with this signature.

Never been to Boom festival, but definitely must be there for the 2008!!!
As many friends that had been there in the past years told me that it is awesome, and music is all various... I really think that everybody has their own expectations which cannot always be attendend ... organizers are not deities! So .... de gustibus non dispuntandum est, and the most important thing is to
have a lot fun in there!
Lol
