Hm, I'm surprised about Djones post as well...
Perhaps he missed a walk at night over the hills in direction to the dancefloor ?
By approaching the whole dancefloor was shown as a psychedelic artwork itself.
And about the Line-up. We dont need to be impatient.
It's part of their concept not to show the LINE-UP before 1.Juli.
In 2006 I didn't care about the Line-up in details till I red the first Daily Dragon at BOOM.
And i remember how delicious it was in the end.

How to pimp up your boom flyer to boomderbaum
1. take on boom flyer
2. build it up
3. choose your favourite incense and light it up
4. Hang your boom flyer on incense smoke and let incense burn to end
5. use your brand new boomderbaum

I don't know about the rest of the festival, but from what I can see at the last edition, the dancefloor doesn't look psychedelic to me.
And for the lineup.
This list is already quite big, and I can't imagine many big names will be added.
If you look at Ozora, the lineup is just about only big names.
One more thing, the soundsystem, what will it be?

Don't forget Boom has 4 music areas. So the music list will be more extensive. Artists like Extrawelt for example, will be playing on the Groovy Beach and not on the mainfloor. At least that's what I've been told.
Soundsystem will be a FUNKTION 1!!

The deco in 2006 was really cool and psychadelic....in that aspect Boom is always amazing.
Regarding the line-up, Boom was never about the big names but i also am missing the good upcoming artists for the Dance-floor...still many artists to be confirmed and hope is the last to die....

no doubt you will be able to find psychedelic musiq at BooM. Wherher it be organic, full power, progresiv, chill, jams etc I am sure the lineup is going to be massive with an excellent diversity.
It hosts excellent psychedelic artists from all over the world, how on earth can it be dissapoiting from the art, installations perspective.
Cant wait.

i can't understand the logic ''there is a line up with no big names in it''.People don't forget it is all about the music and the whole psy mentality.I wouldn't make the trip from the one side of Europe to the other just because of the super names...personally i've listened allmost every big name in the scene through out the years and i have to say there are not always so super as expected..That what was allways unbilieveable was the vibes of the music and the energy of the people who were taken part in each party or festival...So forget the big names and support the mentality and the whole psy family because WE ARE ONE with or without them..The people make the music flows and the artist are there to present it all better as can be..And to all of those who are dissapoited with the line up "which is still not confirmed " try to avoid coming to BOOM because we want people only with positive energy ..BOOM ...can't wait..counting each day, hour, minute, till then.. |

'Look for the : W8L Longbow series .Imagine 10/10 on both sides of the stage with 24 bass speakers on the bottom .Hopefully it will give you the musical experience of a lifetime . '
Now we know what Ozora is going to have, make sure Boom will beat the hell out of their soundsystem:D! |

we never went to boom because of the line-up, but because of the experience as a whole and how it is organised. imho it is one of the best organised psy festivals in the world together with UP in brazil. they create a very good and safe enviroment for the people attending - and the structures and deco they had 2006 were just amazing!---also in the chillout/ambient area - you will not find another festival which such a wonderful chillout floor - where you really can chillout - they think of everything. line-up wise is every time the same discussion - but you have to accept that boom has it's own philosophy on what boom is all about - and either you love it and go - or either you don't like and rather stay at home. boom is so much more then just one more psyfestival.
anyways - see us all there

funny stuff!!
2006 not psychedelic!!!!! hahahahahhahaha
you guys crack me up...
i dont go to BOOM for the "names"...or to be "cool"... i dont care what sound system they have...i go there to smile, dance and laugh, for the people, for the vibe, for the energy...I've been to festival's' with the BIGGEST names and the experience has never come close BOOM...the experience is YOUR responsibility....
before last boom the same arguments about this dj and that dj...and then silence because all who criticised came back with positivity...

'Big names' are what they are because they make 'good music' that the majority of people like. Reading though the posts I have the feeling that becoming a big name is bad in the psy culture and that artists should keep a very low profile to be appreciated.
Good festivals should always have big names as well as less known artists.

my friend Rhythmik who said that big names should't play or make good music????Who said that the psy culture regnonize only low profile artists???The fact is that especially for the BOOM festival the whole idea doesn't focus only in the big names or a massive line up with big artists.I can name 10000 other things which make this festival one of the best in this world...So it is really pitty to focus only in the big names when in the same time you can find a psy experience in so many different activities and happenings during the festival time, not to mention the people you can meat there..Music is a big part of this experience, but music will be there...!!!BOOM bro... |
