Apart of this,I always admit BOOM organisation as the most Hi level professional team on trance scene, and every BOOM is defenetly the most remarkable and unique event in Solar Universe.
But the big ammounts and circulations of multicolour bills sometime making strange things with the people, thats what for me is happening with BOOM |

Honestly,I d rather go and pay 250 Eu for the festival, which is obviously commercial, and produced by well known organisation, which gives me the assurance about the quality of the sound, artists, decorations, performance, infrastucture
and ,what is important, ity's not hiding the commercial factor down the mask of Super Underground Event- in fact, the line up of BOOM was mainly consisted from uncommercial and underground / unknown projects . ( I dont say there were bad or good, though).
But I dont really think 200 Eu ( Even 160 )is the normal price for trance hippies, whom many of us suppose to be:)( IMHO )

Though i respect everyone's right to an opinion, you are not being accurant:
The ticket cost 95euros which for what is offered is a bargain. My fellow trancers, hippies and general humans should get their asses out of the chair and buy in advance
You have to explain what you understand for "quality acts"....i guess Ajja, Mubali, Cosmo, Kashyyyk, U-Recken, Rataliens, Menog, Behind Blue Eyes, Texas Faggot, Jahbo, Big Wigs, Tristan,Tetrameth, Atriohm, Laughing Buddha,N.A.S.A, Error Corrective,Shadow FX,Ocelot, etc...dont qualify in your quality/Known artists category (WTF is known artists???? Quality is the deal and quality there was...)
Please tell me what artists should have been present at Boom Festival?
I positively think that you are not an independent voice for the register of your speech is short on consistency...Who's paying the bills, mac daady?
It was not a perfect Boom (with bad expereinces to all that were kept outside) but it was miles away from your point of view...
Respect!

mate,if you will check the upper page, you will understand, that I am generally talking about possible entrance price for BOOM 2010,when I meant a prices over 200 Eu ( the BOOM to BOOM progression is around + 50 Eu every edit,so..)
Then,I didnt mention even once, that these bands have not or had not to play on BOOM mainstage,I am just touched the aspect of the BOOM line up,which is mainly consists ( exept few ) from undergeround, newborn or narrow-known acts ( ,as I see this is the main reason, why trance lovers adore BOOM so much -)
And,just for the matter of fact,I can say to you- Yes,my friend.Apart of very few (2-3)names in your list, the names you mentioned are exactly from UNDERGROUND trance movement. At least ,they are happily calling themselves like that.
Or you really think that Ajja,Antagon,Atriohm,Big Wigs,Cosmo, irgum Burgum,Kashyyyk,Neelix,Ocelot,Parus,Phonic Request,Procs,Random,Subconciousmind,The first stone,Zaraus are the representatives of mainstreem trance headliners? Some of these bands are absolutely hard to find on the world trance events map,or get info about them in internet, the others are known between narrow groups of the concreete style lovers.
And for sure some of them are in the very beginning level ( as I know by myself, and BOOM visitors told me as well)with the ideas in music and the production as well.
Dont get me wrong again,I do not try to crytisize any of the musicians, who are very respected by me for any sintesized sound they brought to our world.
The other thing is,knowing the $$$ politics of BOOM,I no need to name any of those, whom I would love to listen on BOOM-cause it will never happened anyway-they prefere cheaper projects, who happy to play for huge BOOM dancefloor for few coins,or even free.
It will be really great,if only the price will be not rediculously high for such kind of line up.

mate,
though its silly to talk in such ways...people/projects like Ocelot, Ajja or Subconsciousminds carry the spirit of this scene...which im sure "your know artists" also do(not)...please!!!!!! Im not counting who played for more people in a godamn year but who did it with quality, identity and innovation...by the way you skipped 2/3 of the artists i refered... the pre-sale ticket in 2006 was arouynd 75euros (maybe im wrong!!!) so your economical preview is wrong. Whos is in the beginning level???? Tristan or Rastaliens? Maybe Ajja and Laughing Buddha...no wait its Ocelot who is in the beginning level sorry for sarcasm....moreover is that so important!!! when i listen to a guy who's playibg only for 5 years and already is doing something more innovative, creative, deep...meaningful.... from a guy who's a "big Kahuna" in the scene, "he's been there since the beginning" and still his sound sucks. "well but the production level is very high"...BullS.(sorry) high production level on crappy music is like buying a boat when you live in the midle of the desert!!! You should criticize the guy who's not doing anything meaningful for several of years but still ask for f****** big fee to play!!!! man where's the psychadelia in thsis??!!???
Im sorry to say but with the exception of an amazing party in Goa, you usually play and stand behind the sort of events i cannot relate to psy-culture....

i wish KASHYYYK were there to play...... could be much darkish
what did happen to him? got sick or something?!?!?
by the way, i dont think 100euro approx. are alot for this kind of long event(like 10 euro per day?)
and not only line up does matters, its only a small part of the production investments so this conversation is wrong from the beginning..... :/ |

Totally agree with you mate. Where is the underground when they charge these super commercial prices to hear artists who ll play for 300-500 euros or even for free? I can see only greed from the boom organisers...Thank god there are festivals like Ozora with amazing line up,60 euros entrance, clean toilets, fresh water and good vibes!Respect for the people! |

@X.P. and Hellios
Guys i really dont like to play the attourney from Boom 08...but you should revise your words!!!! The ticket cost 95euros which, i repeat, for what was offered was more than fair - 4 stages for music, Theatre, Conferences, everyday activities (yoga, meditation, massage, etc...), Medical Care, Child Care, Psycadhelic Care, Performances, all for free for 6 days....and im not going to mention the common features in all festivals like bathrooms, water and deco...
Oh!!! The vibes were there in many shapes and forms...but still its just an opinion!!!
The prices of food were expensive in many places and fair in many others...so just stop queuing for the expensive pizza and pancakes and you will save a lot of time and money...i cooked and had many meals at around 5euros which was just fine!!!!!
Boom Festival wasnt perfect...but lets be fair!!!! And lets not compare it with other Festivals....maybe in the next edition i will not go (highly impropable) because i want something smaller or more underground or more closed culture like, but dont question the quality of the work done there. And if the people who did it are earning money, even better....i was given all the conditions to live on the site in an independent and responsible way...im sorry that so many chose not to (the amount of people eating everyday in the restaurants was crazy!!!)
Finally (and more directed to you X.P), explain me please what should be a great big psy-gathering to you...
Respect!

inflation is a bitch...!
i dun think we were over-charged for the kind of infrastructure that was set up at idanha-a-nova...
ofcourse, there are festivals charging less..maybe ozora (3 days, right)...the magnitude of this fest... 4 stages for music...!
they even had guest speakers flown in for liminal village!!..without sponsorships, how 'd u think they'd arrange all of that..?
if ppl. went 4 boom only for the main floor (approx 70 artistes??),, then for sure they were disappointed ,,coz u can't have all of 'em acc. 2 your sub-psy taste...

That's a lot of BS
Youre probably just jelouse, or you have some sort of problem with other peoples sucsess.
No one plays for free at the boom festival, Live acts are at least 1000 DJsets at least 500, opening performances in EVERY day, much more then that.
What about the rest? Maybe for you is not important, Convention area, outdoor performances, healing area, Sacred fire Stage with more then 20 full bands.
You talk like you dont know nothing about this festival, just ignorance and envy, it took years of experience and dedication to make it this big and for everyone, its a risk every year, and i dont see you taking that risk??
Do your own freaking festival, to see how it turns out, you have no idea, and if it turns as god as this i wont have any problem to pay the fee to get in, that's how it is .. everywhere.
i wish the best for Ozora that i went to the first one in 1999, but i'm not going to Ozora thread behaving like an imbecil and saying ...
"hourayy boom festival is the best one "
that's pathetic
at least 25.000 people this year, SOLD OUT; i'm sure it pisses many people off... pff |
