simply one of the best parties of my life... 7 days dancing, meeting people from every part of the world, taking pictures and... oh... nothing else!!!!

it was very long and hard to go to the party, flight from italy to madrid, bus to lisbon, train to castelo branco, bus to idanha, 7/8 km walking under the sun with my backpack and finally 2 hours at the door... but i wasn't going to dance in a glittering club, i was going to the boom, it was something like a purification process from my past life... and when i finally was inside... i was ready... BOOM!!!!!

i didn't have any problem with water and i've drank only free water from every fountain...
queues for the shower were too long but no problem for me, i was in a open air trance party so i didn't care if my smell wasn't dolce&gabbana styla!
queues for food were too long... so often i had to choose other food in other hours of the day or sometimes not eating... but i was in a party, not in a restaurant
queues for wc or battery charger or everything else were too long... so i had to find the best times of the day, when there were no queues... but i remember to everybody here that a long queue is always the perfect time to roll a joint!!!

when i didn't want to stay in a line waiting for something i could do the best thing that you can always do in a party... going to the dancefloor and BOOM!!!

here you can see all my pics, i hope you will like them!!

Hi all!
I was very disapointed to read all the negatives comments about the quality of the music, the prices ( entrance ticket, foods, beer), the long queues, etc...etc..etc.. but wtf?!!for thoses concerned; you'd better stay at home next time...listen your best sounds and eat you usual cheap food...and maybe go bitching in another forum about how miserable you life is... come on! why do you think boom has been so successfull ..+30000 people from +-40 differents countries.Doesn't it mean anything?
like most of us, I have to work the
all year and I have had loads of time to see boom coming... So yep, I have tieded my belt a little before to save some cash for the event.. food was the price it was and thanks god there was any! If it weren't any, some would have bitch about it...you coud have cook your own to make it cheaper or eat bread and sardines or fruits if you couldn't.You didn't have to QUEUE at the restaurant 3 times a day...you could have bring your own beer too, and water to avoid the "nasty taste"...nones have forbidden that! I hardly never went to buy food there, but when i did, I was extremly happy to find all this variety to choose from( i am a chef)ex: pizza in the middle of nowhere?!! in an home made oven? .yep, there was queues there, and a full brigade of 7/8 chefs working 24/7 making i guess an average of 2 pizza/min. how long do you have to wait if you make your own at home? if you ever can?
queues in toilettes, well i wasn't concerned about it since i am a man and I could go pretty much everywhere anytime... and I am able to hold the big delivery for quiet a few hours... and personally i haven't really met anyone shitting themselves ...
shower was another issue. what a fuck?? . the space was surrounded of water. you could just refreshing in the lake... or keep patience in the queue while meeting others in the very same situation than yours... or if you really insisted for the ultimate good shower... for 2 euros you would have get in the local swimming pool and have your shave etc...( sorry too expensive to maybe??)..
what else we are bitching for...ha yes . the poor line up...If you only came for that, then you are one of the most unlucky stupid being on earth since :
-1st either you have bought your expensive ticket 6 month ago, travelling all the way from home, queueing all this time, suffering from all kind of "unpleasent matters" without knowing that you favorit type of music or favorit artist isn't playing there! poor you !that was a tough gamble!!! next time stay at home an listen to your ipod in your backyard you will have better chance to satisfy you unger of sound...
or you bought your ticket after the lineup release and your computer played some tricks with you and promessing something else??
complaining about mainstream becoming event... As you saw it, all kinf of people there, different background, different age, famillies etc.. there was some from everyone...you must be VERY picky if you haven't find anything that you like there...
I recall 600 artists, 8 days of music (?)...
So please, for all the people who didn't enjoy this wonderful time, stop spoiling this forum with all this crap and find yourselve a better festival next time... with all respect

i go to boom since 2002, i went to some goodmood parties, and belive me this was not one of the best festivals i have ever been to.belive me they can do much much better.

and you saying people should go to ther places with they negative coments: people like me are just speaking their mind, and this is a public forum, where pople exchange ideas, of what they live and pass through - life is not a sea of roses, and for example some things in boom weren´t good like in previous years.

and boom has been succecefull because they cared of people - this year wasn´t exactly like in previous years.

i say in a funny mode, that boom is the rock in rio of trance - boom is becoming the very main thing is ran way from.trance is becoming the very thing it tried not to be.the values are changing

and believe me i rather had less artists but more quality - and i am not speaking of the mainstream ones.

Couldn't have said it any better.
But you now, it's in people's nature to never be satisfied.

Oh, and I also been to every Boom since 2000, and I enjoyed this edition very much. And imho, music wise it was the best edition ever. Wish I was still there...

awesome festival, one of the best from GoodMood, amazing work from these people.
Groovy beach was a total success, heard some of the best music in all 4 stages.

The people i've met there, the music, the conditions, got way better then previous editions.

Lots of different people, from many difererent backgrounds and tastes,

fantastic

what a festival!!!
i have to say i had a great time
really enjoyed finally to play at boom

a few things always go wrong but lots of it goes very well
and i have to say one thing i learned from going to festivals parties since so many years
THE LESS EXPECTATIONS THE BETTER THE EXPERIENCE !!!

its what psychedelics teach you...

Anyway yes there was some things that could have been much better but its a learning progress

Some things were just like having forgotten about basics
like put a very shitty mixer for djs and a pioneer mixer for the live acts... what happened to the spaceship mixer from function one they had last time
crossfader was broken on the dj mixer:)

examples like this were be seen all over the place
like somebody paid too much attention to details
but was used to not think about the basic things so much anymore happens after throwing parties for years

but thats part of life we shoot for the best or the ideal
and reach if we are a lucky a perfect compromise with reality

so be it i hope it will be a next boom
heard there will be perhaps a new place
it got just a little bit too big for this location and infrastructure

about all the bad reviews check the latest boom newsletter

bom
anyway still had lots of fun
