The Boom was again a great festival IMO. I enjoyed very much all the installations, gardens and beautiful decoration which was around. There was plenty of good music, from the Dance Floor, to the Groovy Beach, to the Sacred Fire stage. Also plenty of things to do in the Liminal Village and the Healing Area, as well as a good choice of organic drinks and the fact that the generators were run on recycled sunflower oil, it got my respect. All in all, this is a festival to remember!
I enjoyed very much playing a DJ set following the opening set of Star Sounds Orchestra, I became totally high from the energy, the people and the music So far this has been the set and the public I enjoyed playing for the most!

Yes.. incredible DJ set, I was at the dancefloor and the energy was very strong, that was the time that I really felt that I arrived at Boom.
The music was really groovy and sticking people to the ground physically and mentally... when "zen mechanics - industry of love" came it was a big energy explosion that I get goosebumps of remembering.. excellent! |

my two cents.
I did loved it!!!
compaints about the prize? buy early - whats the problem?
Toilets near community kitchen were ugly mostly, cleaned to few times.. but COMMUNITY KITCHEN!! Have you see it? Such a great thing.. the oven alone was incredible piece of ART!
Music!! So much diversity! Absolutely great acts. Artifact and Zaraus really blew me.
A highlite for me: Subconcious mind! it took me so far.. incredible music and an experience for my heart and soul. Hearing this music in the context of the boom i realized that it's a completely different approach to psytrance in terms of song structure. very sophisticated music IMHo
After that the Tristan act... WOW. All in all a great last day at Boom!

wow!!
Just got back from a lovely trip.
Ozora- Boom-Utopia, its been a great ride !!!!!
We have no complains whatsoever about traveling, long lines, expensive food, contaminated water or infected lakes.
We traveled via train to Castella Branco and taxied it to the entrance. We reached at night and setting up a tent at night is one of the longest most craziest experiences ever. The first night was a haze…but Cosmo really had the floor in his grip…it looked like a place with really weird crazy sick twisted people out there…..and I wanted in
Most of the Boom was a love filled psychedelic drenched experience with my wife and I walking around listening to a couple of conferences ( Tamera and Kosmic Cure were mind expanding ), doing some workshops ("sketching the fantastic" has created a new dimension in my drawing experience-this was a difficult choice for me as Shadow FX was playing at the same time…waiting to here some reviews of that set) The Sacred Fire had the best vibe of all…beautiful happy people dancing and laughing. I experienced one of the most psychedelic couple of hours in my life as I watched the UV statues do their act around the neon tree. Fabulous!!!!!
My fav acts :
Gocoo ( drumming up demons and cleansing our souls )
Burn in Noise
Fearsome Engine
Shane Gobi ( saw him in Ozora too and what fun to listen and watch him deliver some beautiful soundscapes)
Wild Marmalade ( one of the best organic trance dance experience )
Procs
Big Wigs ( couldn’t stop grinning during their set )
Laughing Buddha
Tristan
Ziggy
Tetrameth
First Stone just to name a few.
This lovely honeymoon was amplified with some great people we met at the Boom …shared some lovely moments with our new Brazillian and Portugues friends..not to mention the hundreds of other various nationalities adults and kids ( baby boom was the cutest ) we shared our energies with…thank you all…and thank you Boom crew for a great time. Thank you Luke Brown for some amazing art on the Daily Dragon:)
See you at Boom 2010( wherever it is )
peace and light.

Hey Everyone,
so i just returned from my boom related travels. I have one question to my fellow boom- goers.
There was a stall at the flea market selling really interesting bags belts and bracelets.
I think the stall was run by a Japanese (?) designer. The stall itself was closer towards the chai shop behind the dancefloor.
I tried to memorize the name, but didnt have the common sense to write it down. I guess my common sense was lost somewere at the time.
The bags were all quite expensive, so i couldnt buy it at the time. Im still interested though.
Can anyone give me a name or a link.
Thanks a lot for the help

BOOM 2008 what a great experience it was!
I enjoyed every single minute of the festival.
It was my first time at Boom and i was deeply impressed by the beautiful nature of that place.
The music i heard was always good (mostly daytime). Every time when i reached the main-dancefloor the music grabbed me and in no time i was in...trance!
And there were so many more wonderful things, such as: the people, the (vegetarian) food, (visionairy) art, a swim in the lake, lectures.
BOOM 2008 will always have a special place in my heart!

Hi,
Anybody has some HQ Videos (NOT Youtube) from Boom 2006?
Various stuff, dancefloor etc. Maybe somebody has filmed the SubconsciousMind live Act?
We would be very happy if you could upload it somewhere. We can also provide FTP access to our server.
Thanks

time 4 review:
>deco seemed ok==but then i hadn't been to the prev boom sessions...
>location+vibes - 10/10...! the locals were more than friendly! i went in expecting few right wing asses and found only humble ppl...!
>queue - ya the waiting would've sukd but then we were lucky 2 get inside in maybe 4 hrs?
>water - absolutely no problem with the tap water/lake..! so if u got paranoid and spent 5-6 eur everyday on water ,,, bad luck
>what's with the complaints abut urinals...?wat'dya expect...personalized cabins with bidets...??? t'was a funny place 2 have highly intellectual conversations with boomers... ..and yes, the loos were cleaned occasionally...? ...!
>medical team were quite pro...and big thanks 2 them 4 helping me calm down/wid da bruise!
>groovy beach - yupp it sukdd,,t'was like bad version of mtv music maybe for ppl 2 drunk...big deal,,jus avoided the area...
>as for mainfloor,,,i think every1 got their tastes somewhat satisfied...it'd be really difficult 2 please a crowd of 30K where ppl. have a 100 sub sub genres...no 2 dark, too cheesy, dark morning, twilight, minimAL.. bla bla...i had a killargh time on atriohm, mubali, ocelot, texas faggot, jahbo, peaking goddess, hyper freq, phonic request... i think peaking goddess set was awesomeee..when it started ppl were jus standing like zombies not knowing waht 2 do,,and by the end they had a lot of ppl. goin around in waves...! gud dstuff wid flute, guitar and percussions...!
u didn't have 2 dance/be music critic for 7 days... ...jus enjoyed your kind of music and other times,, jus bum around waitn4 them,,read a book, swim, walk around, laugh, eat , drink, visit other floors, liminal village, eco centre ...so much 2 do!
>wat i really loved was the concept of liminal village - combined with paradigms fest...! perfect place 2 chill...!! permaculture nd living outside the box speeches were nice!
>price - dunt think 80 eur is a lot for the amount of money spent on artistes/workers/decos and stuff...there were ways 2 save money like using community kitchen/buying canned food...think about it,,fuel prices have gone up (boom used 35000 litres), plane ticket prices have gone up , prices of essential commodities have gone up too,,,they're also the victim here,,,i'm a big time foodie..so it was a mini food fest for me...
acai stall was awesome..kept having it till i caught a cold ...masala dosa in middle of nowhere.,,wahwhahwa...but the besttt 4 me was tamera veg rest...cheerful members of the tamera community cooking up deliciouss meals like seitan burger...yummy!!!
all in all, gud time...

I was there most of the time, during that set.
What can I say?
Not very special and certainly not much 'live' about that 'liveact'.
If you have the album you would have been bored as well, just like me.
Heared a few new tracks, but besides I thought this liveact wasn't very energetic at all.
I'm sorry to say so, but that's my honest opinion.
Also I think Shadowfx dancing performance behind this laptop looked a bit fony as well, just like Menog's.

Hi
There is so much written here, so here is my review.
I am blown away totally...
The organisers obviously didnt know how many people that were going to show up.
When this many people did show up, they did a really good job. You did have to calculate the toilet hours, my hair didnt see that much shampoo that week, there was people every were, but still I had the time of my life.
You cannot compare Boom to anything else, And I will defintly come in 2010.
The music.. Off course there was some sets that wasnt top noch, but all in all.. Very good.
They really did turn up the prices this year, so you had to go to town to get water and food..
The security that I saw was very nice and professional.
I def think there was to much Police there. Its a dancefloor and when the police keep driving those damn cars in to the floor every single night its annoying.
My friend got pulled in by theese steroidtypes, pulled of the floor and taken to the police station, accused for selling Cokaine...
When the police found only small amounts of other things they all got their stash back, and a appologie for the trouble.. So that is positive.
BOOM
Thank you every single one of you for a great party. |
