As the topic says,
I'm thinking of buying these ones - of course I'll probably take them all home for tryouts before buying. We're talking about alot of money here.
I'd like to hear other people opinions - whoever heard at least 2 of those models.
thx

The ADAM monitors are gaining popularity very fast. I've heard the S3A and they sound absolutely great! I havn't heard the S2A though.

Buy the more expensive,bm6a i guess.
I got them, but i havent compare them with others onto the same desk/mix by switching the mixer ;-)
Wizzy noise who master their tracks, recently bought them 2.
Computer music magazine tested them with yamaha and the makies, and they only talked about yamaha...hehe,f*** them ;-)
I hope u ll enjoy your new Bm6a Studio Monitors.

A monitor into this category cant sound like a toy for sure.
Its a matter of the acoustics of the room.
I believe the only way to understand what you r listenning 2 is into a well designed studio, having the monitors playing together from the same source and muting each other.

it's just what we did in the Music Shop (tel aviv), they designed an acustic room just for this and they have a computer that connected to rme fireface!!!
and still the dynaudio one's sound's like toy's when you compare them to the Adam monitor's!!! |

If you have a big room consider the HR 824s. I compared them to the BM6As in a small room (with the active EQ flat) and the BM6As had a tighter sound than the HR 824s that had this massive sub floating all around the small room.
In a big room the HR824s outshined the BM6As completely. I've had a pair of Absolute 2s, a pair of Alesis M1s mk2s (which I still use for the PS2 in my living room) and I've had two pairs of HR824s (one was Pan's). I am very happy with the HR 824s. For the last year I've been playing out to massive P.A.s almost every month and after more than a year I understand how a mix that sounds great on a big system, should sound in my room...which goes to say that pretty much any monitor will do if you have an understanding of big P.A.s.
But at least with the Mackies you get to monitor more of that deep bass, than with the BM6As.
But if you have a small room, you'll be wasting money on a speaker that goes down to 35Hz-37Hz, by switching the high pass filter in to get rid of all that swelling sub.

Adams have bass refles, wich make them sound better specially in a small room...
but i think we aren't supposed to be using enhancements like that if we are to producing...
will give a fake notion of how your sounding...

sy: The Dynaudios and the Genelecs also have bass reflex ports. The Mackie HR 824 have a passive radiator. But I don't really like the Mackies. They have too much mid-range compression. They are a little bit like hi-fi speakers that hype the low and high end. (Only a little bit though).
If you want speakers without a reflex port, get a pair of K+H speakers. They are expensive though ...

Can anyone xplain how the the monitors eq should b used in a small boomy, for example, room?
I have wooden floor, wooden bed and closet.
Even if i check my mixes to hi-fi(Panasonic Technix),and have a good comparsion to commercial music in my style, having an almost grait listen of kick/bass,how should i use the monitors eq properly?
And why the hell my hi-fi give a phase fx feel to the mix?
