Hello Quantum Frog and Dimitri and Kulu,
If this is a cd made in memory of Romolo and the provent are goin to be given in charity
i wish to ask couple of questions :
My questions arise from the fact that i see the cd handled now by commercial distributor and shop online.
Who is printing the cd? Yourself or Beatspace ?
If Beatspace and other shops are goin to sell it.....are they going to make money on it or are they doing for charity purpose also ?
Which charity association is gonna receive the money ?
Any single penny made by anybody on this one
will be an insult to Romolo and IMHO to the whole scene, at least that part of the scene that still hold some values.
I am very keen to buy this cd, but i will not if some of the money i will use for the purchase are goin in the pocket of any Distribution or Shop Online.
Do this the underground way......print it and sell it only with undergorund channels, on the net...with a Paypal button where evrybody can see where the money goes.....
do not mix Romolo legacy with the "business"
and when i see it on Beatspace......well....sorry i had to put these questions.

Thanks for your questions, you definitely have some valid points and I will be more than happy to clear everything up for you, and anyone else who has questions as to our intentions with this CD.
First off, I would like to share this: Romolo had been working on this album since at least a year before his passing, and we had been in constant contact the whole time discussing artwork, mastering, distribution plans, album tour plans and of course album licensing fees. He was really happy with the direction in which we were taking the album, and so I've done my very best to stick to that course in respect to him.
The reason we are using a commercial distributor is because of their ability to spread the music through their extensive networks that they specialize in. Not all labels have the ability to maintain their own global shipping networks, printing etc. We are small, hence we outsource. And yes, they take their fees for that, and as a label, yes we absorb those costs.
Now, diving into the financial and charity part of things: The album licensing fees is what is being donated to charity [in its entirety, a part of it already has been donated] as well as all profits made from the CD. That means, revenue from sales of the CD will also go to the charity once costs are covered. Unfortunately, things do cost money even in situations like this, we cant print CDs for free or send them across the world for free.
The charity is a Children's Hospital in Romolo's hometown in Greece. My friends Dimitris and Kulu will be more than happy to give you details on the charity.
And No one is 'mixing' Romolo's legacy with business. Working with Beatspace is a way to spread his album down an extensive distribution network like I said.
also, Romolo's family and friends are very well aware of this agreement with the Charity etc and that is more than enough for me.
Lets not turn this into an underground vs. commercial argument, that IMO will be the biggest insult to Romolo's memory. I know what I am doing today is in accordance with the discussions I had with him so many months ago, so my intentions for this are clear and transparent. I do not wish to make any money from this AT ALL. Whether people here believe it or not, is not my concern. Like I said, Romolo's parents and his close friends are fully aware of what is going on here with the financials, and that is more than enough for me.
So guys, thinking of not buying this CD because a small percentage from your 10 dollars or 10 euro is going towards covering distribution costs...not the brightest of boycott plans, since this is a gem of a CD, which Romolo has put his heart and soul into.

Hello Quantum Frog,
thank you for explanation about the way this album got thinked in the start and the way you are giving life to it.
For sure i do not want to make any polemic about commercial vs underground...or call for a boycott, this is not the point, and also i asked my questions just to have a clear picture of how the project was planned, coz i have very strong feelings for Romolo and what he left for us musically speaking.
This will be a very special cd and i am sure that everybody (almost) of us here will love to have a copy of it.
I just missed in your original post the informations you gave now with your answer.
Transparency is always good and in this case i think is extremly important, so i welcome happily your explanation.

Thanks for that, it is our intention to be as open and transparent as possible with this project, since it is a sensitive subject, especially with the finances and profit going to charity. I totally understand your concerns and respect them.
We share sentiments and connections to our dear friend, and rest assured we are doing as much as we can to stick to the original release plan that had been discussed with Romolo. We took it as our responsibility to do this after his passing.

A truly DigItAll wizard who has contributed a great deal for the construction & development of these amazing sound frequencies so special & distinctive that it also feels so right for me to name them greekedelic ...this style... and this name are not to be forgotten. Good clear up, i see with parvati and quantum frog which not only answers Giuseppe' answers but also many of us, the scene needs transparency..and i am happy someone is asking questions, it has to be legitimate not like blind/faith people have for religion, god etc.
I have a question if you care to answer.
Which charity ?
Can you post a link for it ?
