va: revive
compiled by bitmonx & laureth

After a few month of silence, Plusquam is back with another top class compilation
The CD features 8 pounding tracks, this time hunted collected and by DJ Sascha, aka Bitmonx and the new owner of the label, DJ Laureth.
Following the approved concept, the compilation is packed with high quality tunes, covering a range from pumping off-beat to groovy progressive trance - established artist beneath hot newcomers..

We're starting off with two groove monsters from Lube, the collaboration of DJ Sascha and Mario Reinsch from Haldolium and another winner track from Ticon. Followed by Freq, aka Aran F Gallagher, the current hottest export from the land from downunder, Australia. This guy has an absolutely wicked style and you will definately hear more of him in the future. His album is already planed and will appear on Iboga Records.
We stay a little with Iboga.. next track comes from Phony Orphants. After their groovy album, they bring us a spezial psychedelic night tune which you wouldn't expect from them. The next fresh talent comes from Brazil. Oxyd, aka Rodrigo Carreira, is long time DJ and owner of a record store. So, he knows what's it about and delivers a phat housy influenced progressive tune..
Another collaboration from Hamburg town are Buzz & Fabio, Their track Easy Rider is a easy going fluffy tune in their typical unique style..
Vision & Canedy, aka Marco Mellmann and DJ Mark Vision, made already aware of themselves with releases on Plusquam and Avalanche Records. More than 10 years DJ experience meet an advanced studio producer. This is a secure formula for the dancefloor..
The last track is Haldolium's Ain't No Change, phat beats and a vocoder vocal which will stuck in your heads..

tracklist:

1_ Lube - Lay Jo
2_ Ticon - The Clown Smells Like Gasoline
3_ Freq - Short Life Again
4_ Phony Orphants - Scratchi
5_ Oxyd - Activated
6_ Buzz & Fabio - Easy Rider
7_ Vision & Canedy - Privileged
8_ Haldolium - Ain't No Change

release date: 22. October 2003

Looks like a great compilation - as always from Plusquam.

Especially looking forward to the new tune by FREq. Only heard a couple of tracks by him, and they're all excellent, groovy masterpieces. Sounds nice with an album on Iboga by the way

Regarding the other artists: Looks very promising. All of them have released some excellent tracks in the last couple of years, and they are some of the most respected artists in the progressive scene. It should be interesting to hear their latest work.

Good luck with the release           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Congrats Laureth on the rebirth of PLUSQUAM!
Laureth and Sascha know their stuff, so I'm sure every track there is worth the price of admission alone.
I've heard a bunch of unreleased Freq tracks recently. Don't know if any are the same as the one on this comp, but let me tell all of you that they are freaking INCREDIBLE. In my eyes Freq is making the most exciting entrance into the scene since I heard Son Kite for the first time 4 years ago. Perfect sound production, and so many cool ideas in each track. More groovy than progressive trance, and more psychedelic than psychedelic trance--the guy just toys with your body and mind. Welcome to the future!
