Hi, i'm a new member, and i'm a new mac and logic user, i'm from Italy and i love Isra psytrance.
Can someone tell me some names of VST, LOOP, SAMPLES, ecc. . . for LOGIC 7 to play psytrance? Sorry it's 5 years that i'm in Italy and my english is not very good. Here i have not too many friends who like this music and i'm very sad. Bye |

I think almost vst are usable in psytrance, the trick is how to use it...
Try the big names first Vanguard, Albino 2, Pro-53, Kontackt 2...
Yes Jamal, Stylus RMX is the one for percussion!!

heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey. you're equivocated.
this guy is using Logic EXPRESS 7 for Mac Os X...
Logic Express 7 doesn`t work with VST my friend berga, only Apple Units (AU).
i know some of those synths they suggested are available on AU format, but some of them (discovery, vb-1) are not...
Albino 2 is a nice synth you can find on AU format. Its excellent for leads, bass and FX.
You can also count on logic plug ins. ESM is all you need when it comes to hitechy groovy basslines.
And for Drums stilus is a really good sampler, but i dunno if there is a AU version available. But since you mentioned Redrum, why don`t you keep using it?
Its very easy to use Reason inside the Logic environment, via Rewire. All you need to do is open Logic, then open Reason and then setting eacha track of logic to the proper channels/busses in Reason. Me myself do that, i love Redrum and it sounds way better when you use it inside Logic, applying Logic`s Eqs and compression
Good luck.

Hi,
You will need audio units to run in logic, or use a vst wrapper such as fxpansion if u wanna run vst's in logic...
I currently have the following au's work like a dream in logic
idrum
albino
vanguard
novation (vstation and bass)
Pro 53
Fm 7
absynth
kontakt
trilogy
stlylus rmx
linplug octupus (new)
cakewalk rapture
Korg legacy collection
absynth
and many many many more
When downloading samples, try and use some apple loops, cuz they automatically can be adjusted to key and bpm in express..
but nothing beats, full sample cd's designed for dance music...
Most vst's have an au equivillant,
boom

Sorry Raoul, what is a vst WRAPPER such as fxpansion?
Thanks Punkah, so you use reason in rewire? I'll try but i have reason 2.5 and i don't know if it works with logic 7.2

hi,
a vst wrapper such as fxpansion takes ur mac vst plugins and converts them into audio units so they are compatible with logic!!
hope that helps

thx raoul!
i`ve heard of FXpansion and got very curious about it.
Do you know if it works fo any "Nord" equivalent like Discovery? It only works for apple vsts tough, right?
___
berga, i`m pretty sure you can use even reason 2.o inside logic

FXpansion works only for Mac/osX vsts...but it's not recomendable, since Logic 7 is very picky with converted vsts...
Nowadays almost all plugs are available in AU (Audio Unit) format...
Reason should work flawless in combination with Logic via Rewire...
Happy Sequencing |

today i`ve downloaded an old version of this VST>AU converter. even dough the wrapped VSTs didn`t make acroos AU VAlidation (My VST>AU was made to logic 6 in 2003:P), i forced it thru AU manager and man, all my VST plug-ins are working pretty fine.
i`ve read they don`t pass AU Validation cause of some complex exigency of apple regarding plug-in automation, but since most of the VSTs i`m using aren`t that complex, they work perfect even with forced AU validation like i've done.
obviously it would be way better to have all of them in AU format, but i`m really glad i can use all my TC Works compressors and Eqs inside logic . |

Hi,
yeah even i have to force the converted plugins from the au manager, but they work fine...
still with the amt of au's available today, i rarely use these plugins... but its nice to have the option!! |
