Teaching my dad to DJ and write tunes, yet have no clue on a Mac for software...
Can you help give us a list of free apps/vst/etc, that will work in GarageBand to write psy.

Plus any hints on using GarageBand, as Skype screen sharing to work it out.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda

Thanks for looking; know we can use KVR for all types of plug-ins, just wondering what people would recommend.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda

free ones? you'll be missing out on the good ones then
same with garage band. i got frustrated at it's limitations in the first 3 hours of using and decided to get logic instead. but hey, if you've used garage band you're just very confused when starting logic for the first time as opposed to completely and utterly confused

i'd recommend zebralette and tal-bassline. you could also check out if bazille is still available as free beta version. for effects maybe check out warp drive au, it's nothing special, but a simple good sounding distortion, and free.

Did Logic at college on Windows, its my dad who brought Garageband with his Mac...
Thanks got Zebra CM already, will try Tal-Bassline as need simplicity at the moment, to help teach just the fundamentals of synthesis.           www.wizanda.com www.soundcloud.com/wizanda
