maybe you should have something more liquid in your studiom water against fire? your element?
anyway, concentrate on getting an new setup, and maybe later you will able to see the sin of it.

I would get crazy if I bought hardware thru the years, and then it all would burn away ...
I would be 'happier' (when could choose) have hardware burned ... Anyway I think so ... I know knobs are most fun.
But look it this way ...
Imagine all your programs, samples, vst's would be burned ...
Then you really should start from zero. But ou have the hardware. This is the part (after a few years maybe) were you start again, maybe have a better organized computer, setup, programs, less trash, more specific stuff ...
Hardware is ment to put your ideas into music with knobs, it cost a small fortune to get the setup you want.
But a computer doesn't cost that much ...
+ you can get programs for "'free'" on the internet with illegal dld-equipment ...
And let's face the reality ppl, I don't think many ppl buy there software for production
(I would do this if I received enough money from live's and the money you get for releasing a track, like invest it. But as far as I know, most artist can't affort it to buy such programs ... Fruityloops 6 Producer XXL will cost you 348$, Cubase SX3 >$599.99, Logic Pro 7 >$1.069>, ...)
Once you buy it you still have to buy buy things such as Wavelab, Soundforge or Cooledit. Not mentioning the softsynths ...
Anyway I wish you a lot of luck!!

yeah man... very sad to hear!
What worries me also is that the red standby lights of various electrical appliances, are also a great cause of fires...
I always switch my stuff off when I go out... and if there's a standby light I pull out the plug (every night).
However, with the Virus TI i don't want to pull out the plug, but when switched off it is in "sleep mode" with a flashing LED.
Losing that would be killer... on my pocket and on my tracks i.e. not good at all...
Anyway mate... all my consolations bro, must have felt absolutely shit coming back and seeing your kit ruined...
All the best with getting it back and with future tracks - who knows, it may inspire you to write angry, techy, psychedelic nastiness to get your emotions out

Hey Liquid wach this out after a few hours reading your post my instalation burned just like that and today it is back on normal.... do you consume some voodoo magic maybe?
