This is also a very good way to play bass and kick together. Here u got the full control about everything.
The tc sidechainer works quite easy, just put the compressor on the bass fx channel and the tc sidechainer on the kick channel (havn't got it at the moment, so no 100% perfection in description ) then just set the same channel to both and voila u got the bass sidechained.

yup, make sure u have key input selected (it will kepp slipping, it has a bug), and then use the ratio and threshold settings to control the sidechain..
the tc native is by far the easiest way to sidechain, from experience anyways.. u'll always find a bugger on this forum to argue!!
