Hi Pavel
The microphone I use is Sony ECM-TS125 (http://www.minidisc.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=114)
It’s Electret Condenser Microphone.

There was a show in 24 channel (in Israel) called “9 hours and a song”, with Astral Projection.
They record the singer Zehava Ben (whitch I like very much btw ). When they record her they did used process in the recording (I think… or maybe they just opened some process just to the headphones and not to the recording in put line?! you know to let her hear herself with reverb and dynamics on the music...)

What you think?

Thanks for the helpful links Yoake.
Yes it depends orik as you said...

Thanks again for all the help guys

I saw it too. What they actually did is made a sub mix and sent it to Zahav's headphones only. So the reverbed version went only to her ears. The clean voice went to recording. BTW, you must seen that they recorded her voice in their studio without any sonic proof . I can only guess the huge amount of Hum and all other kind of noises they recorded with her voice. Anyways i'm pretty sure that this was a pure TV trick and not actual recording. Surely masters like AP know better than to record a voice inside a room filled with synths and computers with an ultra sensitive vintage Neumann microphone. Perhaps that's the reason that this tune never got released.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Ohh thanks a lot Buju it in did cleared some things for me

Could you tell me were should I put vsts that can be hear only in the monitor path (that goes only to the headphones), and were to put vsts that goes to record path (that being record with the signal of the microphone. (?)

Pavel, I also think that what we saw was not the original “take” recorded with Zehava. It also really look like they a bit “acting” for the TV program, and not really working, maybe to make it more intersting to all the people and not just for you and me

Though I’m sure that the problem Lior had with his Vintage microphone (to get signal) was not an acting heheh

Consider the ohm that comes from all their equipment in their studio, they maybe solved this problem by turning off all the synthesizers’ electricity source. Or another solution is just to record it in another room.

Btw, if you didn’t heard this tune yet and you interested PM me

It all depends on what your using/where is your headphone mix going to come from?

If your using a mixer then i'm sure it will have a few auxes/buses on it.
then what you should do is patch a reverb unit and make the send ( a mono input is mostly used and a stereo output) to be one of the auxes.
make it pre fader so it will not be effecting by the level going to "tape"
then by incresing the amount on every channel of your mix you can have a desired headphone mix.
Now i gave the common "old school" way but it is the same if your doing it all inside the "box" (computer) just need to feed the headphones from alternate outputs so you will be able to monitor the pre send mix.

anyway in both ways you'll need a mixer to be able to send a headphone mix to the artist.

as long as your effects are pre/post depends on the mode your in/ some consoles work different in record/mix mode just rememebr mode your in and make your headphone mix to work to it.

Hope it helps and just expirement....
Once you get teh grip of the signal path it makes things much clearer and more exciting...

how many i/o?
send your headphone mix to one of the outputs and your monitor mix to another pair of outputs. thats if you got more then 2in 2out.
then the effcets make them pre fader and it should not effect your monitor mix but just the headphone mix that goes to your singer...

Best of luck
