hi there,

i recently acquired a m-audio audiophile 2496 and i have sync problems when i run a audio application! (even when i listen a cd)

this only occurs when running under windows xp. i've tryed the soundcard under win 2k pro and it worked fine.
(driver problem? - that's what i thougt)
i went to the m-audio site to download the most recent driver and that didn't solve the problem...
(windows bug? - well that wouldn't surprise me!)

when i try the "ASIO multimedia setup" (that comes with cubase) the soundcard does not pass the sync test (under win XP)...

what should i do?
go back to win 2k permanently?
please help me!

what happens when you play a CD in Winamp or Media Player? Not sure what you mean by sync problems...

In any case, when you load Cubase, switch drivers to the M-Audio ASIO drivers. By defualt you will be using the default Cubase ASIO drivers. To do this in Cubase go to Devices/Device Setup/VST Multitrack, and then choose 'M-Audio ASIO' from the top list.

If that doesnt help then you could also try putting the card in a different PCI slot.... worth a go!

Is your machine under very heavy load?

Have you looked up the problem on Google groups? Maybe someone else has the same problem...

hope it works - these problems are very frustrating. But have sympathy for me too - my monitors blew up on saturday...

I had the same problem with my M-Audio FW410 with half a gig of RAM and 2.6 ghz processor, so pretty fast. Adding another half gig sorted the problem out, but still cds clip when playing in the cd drive

What's your spec? 1 gig of RAM is a minimum with Cubase I've always been told if you're serious about plug-ins!
