For some reason since i've re-installed 'microsoft windows' cubase glitches when playing. It use to work fine, i've got enough RAM and what have ya. And the CPU isn't being used much. anyone got any ideas what i could try? Thank you!

Make sure the newest driver for your soundcard is installet. In cubase make sure that the corret driver is selected ( Devices -> device setup). If that does not fix the problem, then check the buffer settings.

In teh device setup window click on ASIO control panel. Your latency is probobly set very low (<7ms). Raise it. that should fix it.           Work like you don't need the money.

Also, assuming you are using an ASIO audio interface:

Right click "My Computer"
Properties
Advanced tab
"Performance Settings -> Advanced"
Change "Processor Scheduling" to "Background Services".

Asio is considered by windows to be a "background service" so this will give ASIO priority over other program elements.


Did you just reinstall Windows over your old installation without formatting? Generally it is best to do a "clean install" every time, i.e. format the disk first and reinstall everything from scratch.
