I've played many times for friends parties and in small forest raves etc. but, What do you think is the best way to start playing to bigger audiences at proper nights etc.?
Do I have to be "Spotted", get a record deal, or do I have to make many contacts and ask kindly ?:)
Responses would be much appreciated

yeah, I guess you are right... But which labels to send to - my tracks are all of very different styles and I don't know where to start... English labels or foreign ones? biggish local labels, or smaller further away ones?
Problems problems problems

Well, get some contacts here and there. That be with label owners, dj's or organizers. However, if you get a release organizers can put a "(blabla Records)" behind your name and it'll look at bit more serious.
So just keep on making music and share it with some people and I'm sure you'll get a few gigs every now and then.
Good luck!

asking never hurts though... U can do that too, but u'll have to give the organiser a demo or have mutual friends who know your skills and are able to convince the organiser of them. Try to do your first live at a party organised by people u know, that way ur in an environment that calms u, and u'll need all the stressrelief u can get!!
Asking to play live is not common practice for producers though, it's the way dj's look for jobs when they start out... Normally it's not necessary to do it like this if ur a producer, if ur good enough they'll ask u. |

make contacts and frinds in the scene.. Some day they could be helpfull to you as you can be helpfull to them.. Keep making kiiiiler tracks.. im shure there is no lable refusing such killer tracks.. their loooking for it afterall..
About playong live.. like psypox said.. killer realeses take you to killer gigs.. but of course you'll need some contacts as well, cause ppl must know you. i would rather bring a friend than a stranger..
and about "playing" live.. dont worry.. most of the "well known artist" from the scene dont know it just take your laptop and press play in some soft like logic/Live/cubase.. hehe this is not a professional advice.. unfortunatlyy this is how the big acts perform nowadays.. of course is also good to have synth for you to "drop out" sounds and seq around your set.
All the best!!
