It should be good - probably in the hills and amongst woodland. Could be a couple of sound systems.           bass culture

Fantastic party - thanks to all who organised and played. When we arrived we thought wow, what a great place - reminiscent of the old BOOM site, but much smaller set-up being a free party. The stars and moon were bright and maybe 300 people partying until 9am.

Its good to see the Sheffield outdoor free party scene has kicked back into infamous life!           bass culture

Well it was a top party. Nice location in woodland just north of Sheffield with about 300 people. Good mixture of tunes, great lights and nice friendly crowd (even the dogs were quite fluffy!). NTA have been putting on free parties for the last two years while Planet Zogg is a monthly "Hyperdelic Trance Techno" night at the Arches. Dill & Greg Zogg have not getting the chance to play many free parties these days due to other commitments so it looked like it'd would be a good partnership...

Sheffield is mainly a techno & house
city - and most free parties tend to be either acid techno or house, so it was great to hear a party with mainly trance. Although when I got there about 1am - NTA's Si was playing some happy hardcore to predictably mixed reactions!! Greg Zogg took over at about 1.30 for the next two hours and played a lot more of a psy trance set than his usual "weird high energy psychedelic techno" (copyright Oberon) - though still as bangin as ever. One of the NTA lads then played, then Dill took over at 4.30 for the first morning set. Starting off quite funky he then moved through psy trance to a good selection of old trance tunes that haven't seen the light of day for many a moon - including one of my faves - Mark Sinclair's "Every Morning". The next DJ (Martin) played an hour of D&B, which I'm quite fond of - but not at 6.30 on a sunday(although to be fair the dancefloor was going for it)! I went for a walk with some friends through the woods and valley. Returned an hour or so later to hear Gordie play some great old uplifting trance and goa tunes as well as some more modern psy stuff - ideal as the sun was drifting through the trees... (as well as the odd bemused dog walker and hiker passing by...)

The last DJ played finished off with some breakbeat, reggae and ska until about 10am. We left about 9am - tired and happy and the rest of the day in the pub... one of the best outdoor parties I've been to!
