I'm sure its true that the issue with the lack of security was your main problem, and that wonderland was the risk at this party. I'd love to see an all night 18+ event pulled off successfully again in New York City...thats not what happened at grand space on new years, and that venue had plenty of security (and yes i know that party is another situation in itself..) I'm happy for you guys that you got to see your party through until the end though, and better luck with finding a venue next time that respects your dedication to the safety of your crowd.

If the metafarce crew wouldnt f#*k up so many relations with the new york trance tribe (that barely any of the real "old school"(as vish himself put it) trancers ever go to their events),then they wouldnt have to promote to young irresponsible teenagers(probably no one else they can think of promoting to, no one else left lol) and they wouldnt get arrested for irresponsible teenage behaviour at their events (if that really is the case).

hello everyone
I wanted to say that Lab, as predicted was dope. I especially liked seeing him enjoying playing as much as we enjoyed hearing it. I thought his set really kept me interested. There seemed to be a really rich psychedelic feel to the synth leads, I didn't feel like any one overt emotion or concept was being expressed but rather a multitude of feelings and thoughts. A lot of trance has this effect but I felt some of the sounds surprised me in that they weren't like just full-on sounds or just dark sounds. Did anyone else feel that way?
I think the issue of age is a very complex one. I am close to turning 21 and have been really getting into trance for the past 3 or 4 years. I Personally feel responsible to defend to needs of the underage partier. I feel like the age boundary is a serious hindrance to promoting growth and progress within the community. Nobody wants to the scene to just fizzle out. But I think the effects of a completely open door attitude are apparent. People regardless of their age, appearance and cultural identity can be unaware and disrespectful. Perhaps in light of the events of this party and the new years party we should all make a conscious effort to keep things as thoroughly clean and clear of obvious legal violations as not to bring anymore negative attention and interference to psychedelic trance. |

all the time...
i call it quality psychedelic trance...
something that blurs and destroys the concept of 'genre-classifying'... something that defines and really stands out in the age we're living in.
for me 'forest psy' does exactly that for me... it breaks down barriers... and gives birth to a whole new meaning of 'what it means' to go out and party.
in regards to the rest of the post,
you got ur heart in the right place 
the trick is to keep it underground...
stay tuned, stay involved, network with friends, and for pity's sake... LOVE the scene! forget all the nonsense that may come along the way.

the fact that you need to say something like this proves you don't know shit and you just want to throw around negative energy. Why are you giveing metaforce a hard time. you try throwing a party and keeping everyone safe. They are looking out for your best interest. They can't help if people who run the space don't wanna take responsability for it. |
