Well if it's true that the RAVE act (or the "crackhouse" laws) are being used against them we should all have their back (at least with respect to fighting their case) as it could happen to any of us. Party throwers being held responsible for the behavior of their attendees is an idea that must be stopped!!!

took me a day to recover from the 'bad vibes' at the party ... two things that are spot on about the party: Psyops set and Raffi's comments
Firstly thanks to Psyops for bringing some psychedalic tunes to the 'house of noise' oops 'wonderland'. Also IMHO the 'fck8ed up kids' at the party werent even ravers but kids who couldnt find a club or drugs anywhere and came to the party. As said earlier that going to a party is the only way to discover the choice of music, in this case psytrance, is totally subjective. Im sure the kids there just came to do a bunch of drugs and get wasted rather then understand the music and experiencing the whole atmosphere that makes our tribe so unique.
was told by the organiser who got arrested that the reason to spend the night behind bars was 'public nuisance' as some 'stupid' kids who were at the party were drinking outside the building and peeing on the road !! ... so I guess Metaforce can do some learning from this and have better parties in the future.
Anyways I was there to meet a couple of people and support Psyops. Im glad the party is over and will surely not make it to anymore of these parties.
Raffi - I was looking for you during Psyops set and now I know why couldn't find you

....... it's always educational to read people bash us on this forum.
I'm responding only to mr vapourtrail, whoever you are. As usual, your name and face is a mystery to me here on isra; but you must've been someone who thanked me and gushed with praise in the morning at the party - because that's what everyone did when i returned from the police station. And now you bash us here.
I am 100% certain i did not tell you anything about 'stupid kids'. I told whoever asked me what happened the truth, which is that I was arrested in place of you and everyone else who attended the party on charges of 'criminal nuisance.' Because i offered to come with them, they allowed the party to continue.
The police officers came into the place because in the course of patrolling the area saw 18 year olds drinking beer outside the venue. Not 'stupid kids' ... I said 'kids'. You added 'stupid.'
We take responsibility for entrusting Wonderland to provide the security (2 people to ensure quiet outside the venue and safety within it) - that they were paid for, but did not provide. We have already informed them that we will not be doing any more parties at Wonderland.
Obviously, due to the police entering at 2am, the entire line-up was put out of sync. Vish stopped playing abruptly to come to the police station and make sure I was ok ; and therefore LAB had to start his set early and rush into a set that was timed for later in the line-up. Jonathan too had to play early. From what I've heard (not on the internet), but from those of you who were with us well into the morning at the party), the deco and the music were great - but the vibe was messed up by the cops, understandably.
I'm dismayed as usual to see posts bashing rave kids and others here, and telling us we don't understand the 'spirit' of trance. I'm sorry for those of you who were turned away from the venue (about 60-80 people) because it was already at capacity with party-going kids who wanted to see what psytrance is all about, and who showed up very early and filled the space.
But I also see posts here from some of the very people who thanked me and professed how wonderful the party was to my face - and indeed, one from someone who on this very thread has praised the party and then bashed it! I'm used to this on isra... it was the reason we stopped posting here for a while.
But as Nadzinka wrote, if you didn't like it, like she didn't, then avoid our parties in the future.
rachel

Hi everyone !
First of all i want to thank the great response ppl had on my live act, thank you all for making it so special
As for the party, dispite all the problems that happened i felt very good there, ppl were in a great mood, lots of beatiful faces, i loved it !!!
The music was also fantastic, all great dj sets and i enjoyed the music since the beggining, which is rare in party.
Also i want to mention the fact that Rachel went to jail so that the party doesnt stop, thats something ! (thanks Vish and Rachel for the great time !!)
For finishing, i just want to say that the main thing in parties , for me , its the music. And i cant almost see no comments about the music ... there was music there u know ?
Hugs for everyone, and thanks again for the good time !!

I sent a family friend to her first (psy) party and she was arrested for absolutely nothing.
FUCK the NYPD, fucking pigs
We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home. |

I'm very sorry to read that Rachel had to go through that situation, it's incredible how pigs prefer to do the easy job and jail an organizer instead of dealing with real trouble of a city... it's the same everywhere. I feel relieved nothing worst happened and LAB could play his live act to a lot of people in NYC. I agree, it's a shame that some people are more aware of the age, drug abuse and politeness of the people in the party than the music.

I'm haveing a hard time understanding what people are talking about with this party. I had a great time except getting there was a bit of a hassel. But other than that I just stood in front of the left speaker for most of the night. I'm pretty new to the whole psy scene and the whole electronic scene in general. Psytrance is the first real electronic music I really searched to go see. So I'm kinda confused, wondering if people like me are being thrown into the catagory of bad energy. I like to dance really hard even if its packed with people. I can't help what psytrance makes me do. I wasn't even on drugs just some whiskey and I'm not gonna turn around every ten min to say sorry when music is blasting in my face. I can't help I need to constant;y move till I just about pass out. Its the music, I thought thats what this was all about. |

another thing I forgot to add was that I hate the whole age thing. Age doesn't matter, if they were acting shitty as a teenager then they will act shitty as an adult. I'm 24 and only een going to parties with in the ast year and a half but if I knew about psytrance when I was 17 18 I totally would of gone and still act the same as I do today. |

got there after work around 3 a.m...
the place was packed, almost to an uncomfortable level...
L.A.B. was finishing up his live, really enjoyed what i heard...
Jonathan played a nice set afterwards as well, followed by a superb L.A.B. encore dj set...
the aesthetic environment was also beautiful for sure...
i also noticed a strong presence of young "kids" ?
unusual and somewhat discomforting, but with this comes a lot of potential for exposing (converting) new faces to the movement, and i see the value in that...
really unfortunate that rachel was taken in, as with any organizer who puts great effort into their events...
under any circumstances i'm sure many are grateful for her sacrifice...
it seemed like a lot of people were enjoying themselves, but less so the familiar faces who were looking for something else...
i didn't get the full party experience so i can't comment on that, but i did enjoy the music thoroughly...
good luck on the next one and i'm sure the proper adjustments will be made...

ok after reading more of the posts I wanted to say I totaly agree with rachel and it toally sux that happened to you. we never met but I did miss the random fruit while dancing. I hate all these generalizationg about people cause I am definatley a newbie but I am only there for the music. I don't really know people cause i'm too busy gettin off to the beats. people just need to shut everything out and listen to the music. obviously thats hard when cops are involed but don't blame the organizers especially if one gets arrested so you can be on drugs. danm have some respect. I mean I hate to rat the door guy out but he was nice enough to let me in even tho he said it was full because I explained how I spent two hours on the train dealing with bs. if thats not being nice then I don't know what nice is. anyways nothing to do but keep going. sux there will be no more wonderland parties. I liked that place. |

OMG some trancers gossip like little girls. W/e there were cops and young kids. who cares. funny how you psytrancers talk about unity and respect. BUT when you dont get it youself, you basicaly talk shit and disrespect everyone else. if you gonna bash people and disrespect the rave scene . take your shitty psy trance and choke on it. im into psy trance only , but i dont disrespect or open my mouth about things that dont matter. its all about the music. and when YOUR kids grow up i hope people talk shit about them and disrespect them. it all just repeats. sorry to be harsh but get off the computers and stop crying some of you. if you dont like something no ne cares to hear your opinion |

I didn't go to this event due to another event I was working at that night, but I have to say that regardless of what people's issues are with it anybody who spends a night in jail so an event may keep going deserves some props/respect for that. This doesn't mean that all the other problems (if there were issues or not, I wasn't there so I can't comment) should be ignored, but a brief statement of respect for taking a hit might be in order... |
