Going to Nepal for Mountain madness.
Ive heard a lot about the pashupatinath temple and pkhra these are first on my list.
Any other places that should be a must visit in Nepal, please pitch in.

hi
pokhara is a great place with a lot of cool things to do around the place
recommendations in pokhara:
food: once upon a time resturant - its located on the main road, nice foods with decent prices, reccomended.
room: most of the guest houses cost similar and have nice rooms, there is not a problem to find a room there, just dont take the first one you see...
attractions: paragliding, bunji jump, tracking, mountain flights, rafting and a lot of more great things you can find there, just choose
when you are in pokhara take a day walk to sarangkot (you need to take a taxi from pokhara till the road ends, and then continue by walk), its a small village with a great viewpoint of the himalaya, on a bright day you can see a really one of a kind view of the mountains!
another cool place is nagarkot, its about 2 hours drive from katmandu (when i was there the shanty jatra festival was right near the village so we were there for some days), its a small and boaring village with some guest houses and an amazing landscape all over! a great place for nature walking and chill out
when you are in pashupatinath i recommend you to take a walk to buddhanath (its about an hour walk, even less, just ask the locals for directions), the place is a huge stupa with a lot of monesteries around, its an interesting place
thats pretty much all, nepal is a great place! i really enjoyed there two years ago

check out the "student guest house"
its in the thamel right next to the thamel gate (the main entrance to the thamel)
its a nice, clean guest house with very nice crew of workers, i stayed there for a week and i have no complains about the place
quite good location as well, very central.
i dont know about the price tough, its probably changed since i've been there

Jimbo thanks for the heads up, Pokhara is the place to be thamel is crap in comparison.
Loved it in pokhara man the lake, mountains, caves, to the spacious restaurants.Its an amazing place met a lot of people there from the festival.
Have some pics of pokhara will post them will bring you back some memories Bom

Yeah Pokhara is cool for the natural beauty there, really stunning.
My big highlight of Nepal was Bhaktapur, The City of Devotees. Just 1 hour out of Kathmandu, but 400 years back in time, really an amazing place. Check it out!
